Posted - Mar 08 2018 : 1:44:44 PM Hi Farmgirls,
Well we got that big No’Easter yesterday. Where I am we got over 20 inches of heavy wet stuff (as opposed to easy to remove, fluffy snow). My hubby was working on plowing the driveway with his garden tractor, and I did the shoveling of snow off the deck. I then shoveled a path to the chicken coop and egg box, got the day’s eggs and went inside. Less than ten minutes later, I heard a snap and crash. A huge tree branch fell and landed directly where I had shoveled, narrowly missing my chicken coop, and grazing the fenced in chicken run! We had to cut branches just to get the coop closed for the night. Had I been ten minutes later, i would surely have been squished. Close call! My guardian angel was watching!
I was lucky, but pretty freaked out afterward!
Hope all my other cold weather farmgirls fared well yesterday!

Posted - Mar 12 2018 : 07:42:48 AM Thanks, farmgirls! There are people still without power. We were very lucky, our lights only flickered.
Sigh.. more snow on its way to us. This was a very long winter. Just a few more weeks, I hope!
