Hi Farmgirls,
Well we got that big No’Easter yesterday. Where I am we got over 20 inches of heavy wet stuff (as opposed to easy to remove, fluffy snow). My hubby was working on plowing the driveway with his garden tractor, and I did the shoveling of snow off the deck. I then shoveled a path to the chicken coop and egg box, got the day’s eggs and went inside. Less than ten minutes later, I heard a snap and crash. A huge tree branch fell and landed directly where I had shoveled, narrowly missing my chicken coop, and grazing the fenced in chicken run! We had to cut branches just to get the coop closed for the night. Had I been ten minutes later, i would surely have been squished. Close call! My guardian angel was watching!
I was lucky, but pretty freaked out afterward!
Hope all my other cold weather farmgirls fared well yesterday!

Thanks, farmgirls! There are people still without power. We were very lucky, our lights only flickered.
Sigh.. more snow on its way to us. This was a very long winter. Just a few more weeks, I hope!

Nicole, how scary! I am so glad that you are safe and sound. Make sure you and your family are safe with the remainder of the storm.
