I am seriously considering changing Hildy's name to "Lil Nipper!"

Only when she gets excited while playing she nips--those little tiny teeth are like razor blades-I've tried "NO!" "OUCH" pushing her away and scolding, but she ignores my pleas.

I need some advise toot sweet!

How does one train a puppy NOT to bite?

Thanks ladies...

Melody

Same here. When my puppy use to nip we would tap her nose and tell her "No" and then give her a toy to play with instead. It worked really well for us.

I would also suggest that you have a toy immediately available to give to her when she starts to nip. This may be a dog that should be discouraged from nipping at people and encouraged to nip at the toy instead.

Melody I have the same problem with Annie who is going on four months old and growing by the minute. I'm with Grace a sharp tap on the nose is the only thing that will get Annie's attention.

hummm,, wish I knew the answer... we have always adopted older dogs...
Have you tried 'taping' her on the nose when she nips?
You might try 'googling' ...
"How to stop a puppy from nipping"
and see what comes up.
