I am seriously considering changing Hildy's name to "Lil Nipper!"
Only when she gets excited while playing she nips--those little tiny teeth are like razor blades-I've tried "NO!" "OUCH" pushing her away and scolding, but she ignores my pleas.
hummm,, wish I knew the answer... we have always adopted older dogs... Have you tried 'taping' her on the nose when she nips? You might try 'googling' ... "How to stop a puppy from nipping" and see what comes up.

Melody I have the same problem with Annie who is going on four months old and growing by the minute. I'm with Grace a sharp tap on the nose is the only thing that will get Annie's attention.

I would also suggest that you have a toy immediately available to give to her when she starts to nip. This may be a dog that should be discouraged from nipping at people and encouraged to nip at the toy instead.

Same here. When my puppy use to nip we would tap her nose and tell her "No" and then give her a toy to play with instead. It worked really well for us.
