If you remember me sharing, our health insurance requires dh, and I both, to participate in an on-line program (time consuming as well).

So...the program states, that if we reach our points by the end date, we get to keep our insurance as is. If we don't we lose the co-pay, pay higher prices etc.

I took one dd to the doctor in April. If I had not, I would not know this.

They did NOT give us the same insurance. They took our co-pays away etc. I called the health program. They told me to call the company benefits center.

I spent all last Friday trying to get them on the phone. Literally - "all circuits are busy" was the only thing I could get.

I have yet to get a hold of someone. I will try again today. I sure hope it's a mistake. Both hubby and I got our points. What a pain this is.

Unfortunately, a co-worker already applied for an appeal. He and his wife were denied.

Yesterday was a day of bad events for this house.

Kristina~~ Can you get a number of the benefits person in the Human Resources office where your husband works? Perhaps if you can get to the company employee representative, there could be a better and quicker pathway to resolution. When we have individual issues with our health plan, sometimes our benefits coordinator can help sort it out better or make some calls and get better answers. It is at least worth trying. In the interim, if anyone needs medical care, go to your local health department when they hold clinic days. Most of them have a sliding pay scale which could be significantly cheaper than out of pocket. Maybe this will resolve sooner than 45 days. Good luck!

Health care has a strangle hold on many of us. It is hardly reasonable what we may have to give up to seek medical care for ourselves or our loved ones. I hope your appeal is granted. It would be really punitive of them to deny you the benefit of an entire years effort to "play by the rules" and then negate the entire process for having missed one survey!!

Well, here is the update.

Dh had to call. He found out that it was he who failed to do an on-line survey they required by a certain date this year (for last year's points).

So....we now have to put in an appeal and that takes 45 days. Say a prayer. We cannot live with a $600.00 per person deductible with young kids and a large family. They dropped our co-pay completely. I could just cry. I can't afford to take myself to the doctor.

Dh is very upset. He gets e-mails from this company constantly. He just simply missed it in his e-mail.

I tried that. It didn't work the first time, but when I did get someone, I didn't have the password or security question answers. Dh doesn't know the password either. I'm waiting to see if he can call me back from work to re-set the password so I can have it.

How frustrating! I don't know if you tried this, but sometimes when you call a number and it doesn't give you the option to talk to an operator, you can still hit 0 and get a real person. It won't work if the "circuits are busy" but if they don't list it as a menu item for who you want to contact it usually works.

Well, I got the chance to speak to someone today. However, dh lost the password, and I did not know the security questions (different from the last time I called). I am so frustrated.

They have no e-mail to contact anyone.

I had to call dh at work and tell him he has to go on-line and change the password and then call me back with the new one.

This could take days to resolve. I feel a migraine coming on already - how many calls does a person have to make?! GRRRR!

Wow Kristina! We recently had an issue with our health insurance but nothing like yours. I hate when companies start to do this to their employees! I hope you get through to them soon! I am so sorry that you have to deal with this! *hugs*
