I’m not sure if anyone has done this before, but I want to make a quilt. Not just any quilt, but a Farm Girl quilt. What I would like to do is get a 6.5” quilt square from any and all farm girls who want to do it. Fabric pattern and color doesn’t matter too much, but I do want the name of the farm girl sending it on the square, and maybe the state where they live. You can embroider it, stamp it, paint it, what ever, just as long as it shows up in the middle of the square. Once I get all the squares, I will piece them together then quilt it. After it’s completed, I’ll post a picture of it on the site with a list of names of the contributing quilters. If anyone is interested in sending me a square, just email me and I’ll answer back with my address. Thanks to all who help me complete this very special quilt! I hope I hear back from ALL of you!

Kim - I got your square and it is exquisite! I just love the cactus and the 'pricklies' on the top. Girl, you are certainly talented. Thank you so much for your help with this project!

Sounds like a challenge. I would love to send a square. It would be fun to see how many states could be represented in the quilt.
Let us all know when, where etc.

Hey, Barbara! Yes. Every square I get will be incorporated into the quilt. There is no way I could leave out even one of these squares - they are all just too beautiful and too well done! If I don't have enough squares I'm adding some of my own. If I have 'too many', it just means making a bigger quilt!

Here's a list of the squares I've received: Audry; Debbie (Colorado), Diana, Fran, Sandy, Toni, CHristine, Annette, Debbie (Alaska), Judith, April, Bonnie, Jeanna, Loyce & Melody. That makes 15. Let me know if I should have received others and I'll check!

Sarah and Kim, I would love to have a square from y'all! I'll email you with my address, and when you get it ready, just send it on! Judith, April & Audrey - YES!! I got your squares and love them! I really need to make a list of all that I've received, so everyone knows I got them. I am sorry I've been out of touch, but farm life and heat will wear you out fast, as you all know! I'll work on that this week then post! Thanks again, EVERYONE, for helping me with this project!

Remember… Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body. Instead, you should slide in sideways, glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, in a body thoroughly used up, worn out and screaming “Woohooo! What a ride!”

Ladies - I have received 13 out of 24 squares, and I cannot tell you how beautiful this quilt is going to be! I am amazed at the farm girl talent, and can't wait for all of you to see how beautiful its going to be! I'm planning on piecing it the beginning of October, so those who haven't sent their squares still have time. Thanks again, ladies - I can't wait to start working on it!!!

This idea reminds me of Jennifer Chiaverini's "Union Square" book. I love that book and I love this idea! Wish I were confident enough to participate.

Oleta - That is the CUTEST square! I love the colors and as far as I could see, every tiny square was perfectly aligned. You did a lot of work on that, my friend, and I truly appreciate it. I cannot wait to get started piecing it!

Barbara & Kathy - Sorry it took so long to respond, but where we live we are 'internet challenged' - aka only dial up, and only when the wind blows at a certain angle at the same time the sun is in one exact spot and when at least two of my cows are pointed north and standing on two legs! I would LOVE to have your contribution to my quilt. I'm emailing both of you, and cannot wait to see your square! Thanks a million!
