How many of you girls get up at the crack of dawn? All my family and friends sleep in till like 10 and 11 o,clock. I just can not get my self to do that. My sister ask me the other day why do you get up so early. I told her I love to watch every sun rise. I love to watch every sun set. I feel like I would be sleeping my life away. A wise old women told me that when I first got married. Of course that wise old women was my grandmother. I remember she came for a visit to town and her and my mother came out to visit me the first year I was married and I was still in bed. She left that advice to me and I have never forgotten it. She told me you will sleep your life away. To get up and enjoy every sun rise and that I have done. So how many of you guys are sleepy heads? Do you love to see the sun rise?

2:45 am We go to bed very early. My mom's big joke is that the UPS man woke us up, after we went to bed.

In the winter it's 9:00, 8 if there is nothing good on tv or if I'm really tired. Zoo work is super taxing on the body sometimes, as is farm life. Combine the two and just try and stay awake! In the summer it's 9:30 or more like 10 but mostly because we are caught still playin' outside and have lost track of time. Dinner times are the same way. Look at your watch and the next thing you know it's already 7! OOPS! Where ddi the time go!
heritagehunter Posted - Mar 04 2012 : 03:25:21 AM
Usually bedtime is 7 or 8. But I have gone as early as 5:30. Depends on what is needing to be done after work or how worn out I am.

OK, so there seem to be a lot of early risers. I myself would love to be an early bird but I usually don't get up much before 6:30 or 7:00. My question for you 4 to 5 o'clockers is what time do you go to bed? My DH gets up at 4:30 or 5:00 most mornings but he's also in bed by 7:30 and to me that seems way to early to be going to bed! So how about you all? What time do you all go to bed?

I get up between 4:30 and 5:00 that is my quiet time to do my art work without interruption, just me, my coffee, and my art!
Annab Posted - Mar 03 2012 : 10:35:23 AM
And I thank God almighty that I married someone who is like minded .

My husband cannot stay awake to save his soul much past 10:00 and also is an early riser.....to a fault. Days when I want to linger in a nice warm bed, when I am off, he is up and attem. That's the farming lifestyle he was always brought up with ,so I don't complain often!
Annab Posted - Mar 03 2012 : 10:32:47 AM
With multiple roosters....no way!

I wake up around 4:30 and get up most days around 5 .

Non work days sleeping in is until 7 and even then I panic and feel as if I have missed out on something-especialy if the sun is blazing through the window.

Now to compensate though, I am a sucker for a decent nap in the afternoons on occasion.

Even as a kid sleeping in was only until around 8.

And if I have been up super late, 8 is about the max too, but once again, it will catch up around nap time.

Early here too. Sometimes between 3 and 4:30. I love the quiet. It's kind of nice knowing that it won't be so early in a another week or so.

I am up before daylight even thinks about cracking (2:30 or 3:00 am). I leave home either4:45 or 5:30 am for work, depending on the day. But I was always an earlier riser. My Grandmother always told me that after she moved in with us, I was the only one that would get up with her in the morning.

I've always been an early riser. Can't stand "burning daylight" as my Daddy would say. Lately,it's been extra early (5-5:30am); I think my body clock is getting ready for the time change.

I normally get up by 4am. Sometimes 3am.... I love getting up early! I always tell my kids that I will sleep when they put me in the ground. :) And I love the thought of having an extra 24 hours today!

We are early risers here. My dog wants me up about 4am and then Nora wakes me up by 5am. Lately I have been going to bed about the same time as Nora just to compensate! lol

I pack my husband's lunch too Deb. We go to the gym, then later while he's getting showered, I make breakfast and pack his lunch most days. However, the kids get up as soon as we get back. Your 2 hours to yourself sounds like bliss. 7am is late for us too. Ha ha ha ha! It's hubby that rolls me out of bed and turns on lights.

I'm always up by 5:30 - I have to leave the house at 6:50 for the bus and by the time I feed the crew, iron, makeup, coffee, make lunch and brekfast I've got to be up by 5:30. Once in a while I'll skip the bus, buy lunch, and sleep 'til 7:20.

I don't understand you morning people. I hate mornings. Hate 'em! I am fine once I'm up, out of bed, and finished with my cup of coffee, but until then... I'm not fit for company.

yep, Early Morning here too.
4:30 during the week, walk the dogs, feed them, make a lunch for me and shower and out the door to go to work.
May sleep in on Sat and Sun about 5:00-5:30 and then the furry alarm clocks get me up for their breakfast.

I'm an early riser, too. Usually up by 6! It's so funny - my first husband would sleep until 10 or 11 and it drove me nuts. We got divorced (but not because of that, really). A few years later I met and then married my husband - he wakes up even earlier than me, and I love it!

Another crack of dawn person here! Although, I've been lazy lately but I was catching up from being so tired from driving a big rig. This morning, I had to get up early, no two ways about it!! Actually, I'm thinking my creative juices might be getting started again and it must be in the mornings. I tend to flag out around 1pm for some reason.

Hubby is a night owl of the first order!! That's why we were such a good team for driving. Heh...

In high school, my mom got me up at 5:00, I had to be at the piano by 5:30 to practice for an hour, then breakfast and catch the bus at 7:00 AM.
Worked day shifts at 3 different hospitals . . had to clock in at 7:00. AND, when I had goats I had to milk them before I went to work . . . in the dark! (Nope, no barn with lights) Just about every job I've had required me being at work by 7:00 AM. But I enjoy getting up in the quiet and watching the sunrise and just enjoying that time of day before things start really cranking.
My hubby, my dog and my grown daughter? (she doesn't live here any more, but when she visits . . ) Well, that's another matter entirely.

I am the grown daughter of Ceejay! She speaks the truth! And I'm married to a man who when he gets up, he's up and there's energy! The thing about me is that I LOVE to watch the rise and every weekday I get to because I'm a teacher and that's how it is! The condition in which I will watch the sunrise must be peaceful and quiet and with a cup of strong coffee and I must not be rushed to do anything! Weekends and vacations...I might be up watching the sunrise! Seriously, I do love the newness of the day...it's just a slow process for me!
