How many of you girls get up at the crack of dawn? All my family and friends sleep in till like 10 and 11 o,clock. I just can not get my self to do that. My sister ask me the other day why do you get up so early. I told her I love to watch every sun rise. I love to watch every sun set. I feel like I would be sleeping my life away. A wise old women told me that when I first got married. Of course that wise old women was my grandmother. I remember she came for a visit to town and her and my mother came out to visit me the first year I was married and I was still in bed. She left that advice to me and I have never forgotten it. She told me you will sleep your life away. To get up and enjoy every sun rise and that I have done. So how many of you guys are sleepy heads? Do you love to see the sun rise?

I, too, like to get up early. I find I can get so much done if I get up & get going. My thought is that sleeping & eating are optional. There is just so much awaiting me with each new day.

I am an early riser, too! I have so much more energy if I get up in the morning and "wake up with the day" than if I sleep in and wake up after daylight. Watching the sun rise is more of a summer thing here in the Seattle area but I do enjoy them anytime when they are visible. I love to listen to the early morning quiet and the birds singing at dawn....before all traffic and other suburban city noise begins. So relaxing!
Cheers! ~ Marilyn

I'm an early riser too. I have too much to do. And my animals would all wake me up if I slept too late! I love to see the sun rises. I am just a morning person.

Yes, I'm a crack of dawn kinda gal. In summer and spring and fall there is so much to do I like to get a jump on the day. In winter when I'm up hours before the sun, it's a great time to write or read or just visit with my sweet husband over hot cups of steaming coffee and listen to the fire. I think the mornings are the very best part of my farmgal day, always delicious with possibilities! We also turn in early. We don't have TV so we aren't yawning through all the prime-time shows. We are generally in bed by 9:30pm and up by 6am or earlier. Many older folks can attest to how difficult it is to stay asleep. That's true for me. Kava root helps to get good sleep but I'm still up early. I guess those years working at the dairy ruined me! Susan

I'm a before the crack of dawn person. And I wake up happy. I get a lot done in the morning. My husband, on the other hand, gets up late, walks around like a zombie and is cranky. Every damn morning and I tell ya, I'm worn thin by his every morning attitude. And he wants me to not make any noise until he gets up. Yeah. Like I'm going to waste 3-4 hours sitting around waiting for him to wake up. I have a life to live and I live it!

I love, love, love the morning. I am normally up between 5-5:30...laundry on the line, pull weeds in the garden, bake, sew, read...many things to do before I have to be to work at 8:00am. It's my time and I try to enjoy every minute of it...and I LOVE the sunrises!!

I WISH I was a wake up at the crack of dawn kinda gal. I used to be...I don't know what happened. I have a really heard time going to bed early. Sometimes I will go down into the basement at like 11 p.m. and work on my crafts until 2ish. I'm usually up inbetween 7 and 8. Once in a great while, if I go to bed really late, I sleep until almost 9. That drives me crazy because I do feel like I slept that day away. 99% of the time I wake up in a good mood, which i'm thankful for. Those people that wake up all groggy and grouchy drive me crazy.
My dad works 2nd shift and doesn't go to bed until 1-1:30, but he always wakes up before the sun. I asked him if he ever feels like sleeping in (and by sleeping in, I mean 7 or 8 lol!) He said never! He LOVES waking up. I like waking up, but I don't love it. I'm going to have to find a way to change that and my going to bed so late.

Cock-a-doodle doo! Here too! I don't know if it would have been otherwise if I hadn't been up early every morning of my entire life, but I grew up on a farm and we had chores to do! Had to catch the horse to ride to school, if I wasn't walking. Either way there was no vehicle transport. In high school, my mom got me up at 5:00, I had to be at the piano by 5:30 to practice for an hour, then breakfast and catch the bus at 7:00 AM. Worked day shifts at 3 different hospitals . . had to clock in at 7:00. AND, when I had goats I had to milk them before I went to work . . . in the dark! (Nope, no barn with lights) Just about every job I've had required me being at work by 7:00 AM. But I enjoy getting up in the quiet and watching the sunrise and just enjoying that time of day before things start really cranking. My hubby, my dog and my grown daughter? (she doesn't live here any more, but when she visits . . ) Well, that's another matter entirely. CJ

Morning person here, too. I just have to get up and start my day. My head starts swimming with all that I have to do and all that I want to do and I have to get up and get moving. I'm always up between 4:30 and 5:30. I can never sleep later than that. Everyone I know thinks I'm nuts for always getting up so early. It's nice to see that there are others like me out there.

I am, like Emily, a night owl. I can get much more done in the wee hours. I love to watch the moon come up. Marly

I wish I was a crack of dawn girl. If I'm up on my days off before 7am, either there's a problem or we're going on a road trip. With the price of gas, the road trips are probably going to be kept to a minimum this year.

Mornings have always been my favorite time of day, when everything is quiet and new. That said...I wish they came later! I am and always have been a night owl, and no amount of schedule-shifting seems to change that fact.
Well, at least sunsets are pretty too!

Morning Gal here. Up around 4:00. Got to watch the sun come up and the changing of the guard, Love to hear the early morning song birds as they start their day. Always have been a morning person. So when I was working and had to be there at 6:00am it was no problem , I was ready to go. Did that for 26 years. Hubby not so. Likes to sleep until 10:00. ugh. I just go on doing my thing until he is out of the shower and ready for his day. Can't waste time waiting on him. LOL

So not a morning person yet I'm usually up and at it at 6am no matter what time I went to bed. My body just tells me to get up, I've got work to do. I like accomplishing a lot in the morning. My mornings are very busy and I do like it that way but I don't consider myself a happy morning person. My mom is most definately a happy morning person. She wakes up happy and enjoys the mornings. I wake up groggy and grumpy and start anyways. :D

Hi :) All my life I have been an early riser. Can't explain it, but I feel cheated if I sleep in to 6am. People always ask why the heck I get up at 4:30am, I just smile ;)

Morning person here- I literally rise with the sun. Getting up at 7:30AM is literally "sleeping in" for me. Love to read in the mornings-it's when I'm at my best & most alert. Like sunrise and sunsets. By 7:00Am I'm usually working at the computer, seeing what needs shipping,or blogging,or tweeting.

My 'rising' depends on the season,,, in other words.... in the Summer, I am usually up by 5am...maybe 5:30... cause the sunrise warms the house and makes me want to jump out of bed & go outside to play! But in the Winter I sleep in till 7am, because it doesn't get light until then....and cause it's to cold/snowy and I can't go outside and play like I do in the summer. That being said,,, when I am camping w/my gal~pals... I am usually up @ 5am...putter in my trailer, make my mug of java and walk around the campgrounds in search of another early riser... and if I can't find any (happens alot) I start shaking trailers only to get yelled at by groggy 'Trailer Divas', lol! well geesch! if they would get up I wouldn't have to resort to such tactics! lololol!
Happy Trails....

Early riser here too... DH gets up ~ 5 and I'm up shortly after him. We go to bed fairly early too - but I like to read before I go bed.

I am the grown daughter of Ceejay! She speaks the truth! And I'm married to a man who when he gets up, he's up and there's energy! The thing about me is that I LOVE to watch the rise and every weekday I get to because I'm a teacher and that's how it is! The condition in which I will watch the sunrise must be peaceful and quiet and with a cup of strong coffee and I must not be rushed to do anything! Weekends and vacations...I might be up watching the sunrise! Seriously, I do love the newness of the day...it's just a slow process for me!

I'm an early riser, too. Usually up by 6! It's so funny - my first husband would sleep until 10 or 11 and it drove me nuts. We got divorced (but not because of that, really). A few years later I met and then married my husband - he wakes up even earlier than me, and I love it!
