Posted - Jan 26 2012 : 07:35:14 AM Okay farmgirls, how 'bout a little fun. These are for a project I'm working on and I've decided to make a guessing game out of this.
This is not the finished project, but I will give a little gift to the farmgirl who guesses WHAT the finished project will be . . or comes closest to it.
So, just give your best guess TODAY, THURSDAY . . . and in the morning (Friday) I'll see who comes the closest, post a pic of the finished project and send off a little gift. Just post here.
You ready? Set!! GO!!!
Thanks for playing!! CJ

Posted - Jan 27 2012 : 3:14:29 PM Ah ! CJ I was thinking about that. I seen that on DIY project but they used clear cups & covered them. I think they used LED lights. I like your way better with the lampshades ;)

Posted - Jan 27 2012 : 2:38:37 PM As a shade on a wineglass. TIP: You'll have to cut the entire circle of the bottom out of the cup OR your tealight won't stay lit AND you'll melt the cup bottom. But you could use the LED tealights. CJ

Posted - Jan 27 2012 : 10:53:43 AM CJ those are adorable! You could also use them to "foofify" a little girls bedroom window shade. How cute! Gosh! There are so many uses for them. If you want to give some away for a male friend or a cowgirl or boy you could do them all up in bandana fabric. John Deere fabric for your farmer friend. I think you can find team fabric for any sport lover! I think the possibilities might be endless!

Posted - Jan 27 2012 : 10:23:48 AM YAY! Thanks so much. I had recently seen this idea and was going to try it with fancy napkins or tissue paper and outline with sharpie to look like stained glass. If they're easy to put on and take off, you could make several different themes and just change out the shades.
Thanks again.

Posted - Jan 27 2012 : 08:02:58 AM They could also be used as little shades on wineglasses (with the right mouth width) with a tea light in them.
They'd make great little party drinking cups but you should do that before cutting the "X" in the bottom for the light.
Thanks again girls! CJ

Posted - Jan 27 2012 : 06:31:16 AM Okay farmgirls, here we go:
They ARE lampshades!!!!
So, Marly, Beverly and Marlene were REALLY close!!!! Madeline was even closer with her string of Christmas lights idea And, Laurie, you are right in that they are "Glamping" accessories. I plan to use them across the front of our canopy at our campsite.
"KathyC" nailed it! They are shades for a string of mini lights!!!
YAY!! Kathy . . would I be right in thinking that perhaps you've either seen or made some?
Email me your mailing address so I can send your little gift!!!

Posted - Jan 27 2012 : 05:38:45 AM My post does say "party hats" but there are question marks at the end of that. So, that was a "teaser" title.
Very shortly we'll know for sure and I do have pics of the finished project.
Thanks for "playing" . . it's always fun when farmgirls jump in, just for the fun of it! CJ

Posted - Jan 27 2012 : 03:59:37 AM Your post said party hats, and I'm all over it, because when i was 4 my mom did the same thing and attached a paper dolie to the bottom for cure ruffle effects.
Can't remember what was used to keep them attached to the tops of our heads.
And since my birthday is in February, the little cups were covered in pink iand red construction paper.
Is this right??? |
