Posted - Oct 07 2010 : 09:01:59 AM In the 10 years I've worked at our law firm, we've had a series of rather unsuccessful and rather forgettable receptionists...but we hired a new lady a few weeks ago and she and I get a long like wild fire! We have already shared 4 books that we love (and love the same authors) and last night, I decided to bring her some of my homemade Violet jelly and this morning, she showed up with a loaf of homemade wheat bread for me!
I guess patience is rewarded! Ten years is an awful long time to wait on a co-worker that you might actually want to spend time with outside of work!!!

Posted - Oct 13 2010 : 1:11:52 PM That is awesome! I'm the only woman where I work and sometimes I miss the companionship and conversations that can be had with another female. It's so good to meet new friends that have the same interests. I'm happy for you.

Posted - Oct 08 2010 : 10:48:52 AM It's really great...and we've planned on doing some things after work at the local art galleries and stuff in November. They have sales to promote Christmas purchases so we've already marked a few on our "collective" calendars :) And she really likes music, which is great and we share some similar tastes that way, too.
I've always been the "young one" in the firm, or the "free spirit" anywhere else, and it's just super wonderful to have someone who's so similar.
