In the 10 years I've worked at our law firm, we've had a series of rather unsuccessful and rather forgettable receptionists...but we hired a new lady a few weeks ago and she and I get a long like wild fire! We have already shared 4 books that we love (and love the same authors) and last night, I decided to bring her some of my homemade Violet jelly and this morning, she showed up with a loaf of homemade wheat bread for me!

I guess patience is rewarded! Ten years is an awful long time to wait on a co-worker that you might actually want to spend time with outside of work!!!

That is a long time to wait, but so cool that you've found each other =)

I am very, very, very happy for you!!!! That's such a cool thing! Bring her to Burlington! It's so great to have a like minded person to work with. I would have lost my mind without Susan all those years.

Jonni - You are so lucky, most of my friends (city girls) look at me like I have two heads when I mention farmgirl stuff!

It's really great...and we've planned on doing some things after work at the local art galleries and stuff in November. They have sales to promote Christmas purchases so we've already marked a few on our "collective" calendars :) And she really likes music, which is great and we share some similar tastes that way, too.

I've always been the "young one" in the firm, or the "free spirit" anywhere else, and it's just super wonderful to have someone who's so similar.

Good for you Jonni- so nice to meet someone who enjoys the same kinds of "stuff' as we farmgirls do, isnt it?
Smiles to you and your new farmgirl friend!

That is awesome! I'm the only woman where I work and sometimes I miss the companionship and conversations that can be had with another female. It's so good to meet new friends that have the same interests. I'm happy for you.

Cool.... it's so great to really connect with people that you rely on and spend a good part of your day with.

“Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.”
