Fall is upon us! Yesterday at Walgreens, I saw they had a whole big thing of candy corn, and that is my favorite fall candy, so I bought one of the big bags, and it's almost gone. So, what's your favorite fall/halloween candy?

They are pretty to decorate with! I have a bowl shaped like a maple leaf that I put them in.... very nice decorating touch!

Candy corn and pumpkins!

Even if you don't eat them, they are so pretty to see.

I always get some to decorate with.

I remember when I was a kid there was one neighbor that always made popcorn balls. They were so good. Thanks Elaine for mentioning them. I don't know how they are made. Maybe someone has a good recipe for popcorn balls?? I would love to make some now.

I love the peanut butter kisses and I bought some back in August when they first put them out at Dollar General. I also love Smarties and the Necco candies!

My granny used to make popcorn balls every year and we would have to get to her house early if we wanted some. But usually she put back a few just for us.

My favorite fall candy is the Autumn Mix that includes candy corn, Indian corn and those wonderful pumpkins in it.

Anyone else like eating marshmallows straight from the bag?

Elizabeth, I will have to try and find the caramel apple ones!

When I was a kid, back before the Earth's crust cooled, lol, there was a hard candy that looked like an apple. It was red on one side and shaded to green on the other, and tasted like a tart apple. Don't know what they were called, but they sure were good.
As for peanut butter cups, I love peanut butter and I realllly love chocolate, but not together. Go figure.

Candy, what a great topic. Yes....love the peanut better kisses and broom sticks which was a banana taffy. Have not seen them around for many years though.

Everything has it's time.

Ooh, peanut butter cups are one of my favorites too! Jessie, I live right around a convent, and they always passed out mints! I would rather take the pennies than a mint! But a lot of them are older, so maybe I can cut them a little slack:)

Robin, me too! The Barbers always passed out the full-length red licorice ropes, and there was a house on Oakview Drive across from my elementary school that passed out pennies (stupid!). The Andersons made popcorn balls, wrapped in sandwich bags with their address label attached to it (I guess so our parents would know it was safe to eat and not from some nut who would drug us).

I can still tell you all the best houses from my old neighborhood growing up where you would get the best treats. I remember when you could eat a homemade treat offered on Halloween.
Ingrid Posted - Sep 06 2010 : 07:49:57 AM
My favourite are the caramels and the toffee that is wrapped in the orange and black wrapping. I think a big part of it is those are the two candies my kids always save for me. Not because they don't like them but because they know I like them.

Give thanks to yourself everyday for all the wonderful things you do!

I am with you all...LOVE candy corn and harvest mix. And, sad but true, I raid my daughter's trick or treat bag for all the Reeses Peanut Butter cups. (sigh).

Price hike on Chocolate?? Oh my. There will definetely be riots in the streets over that. I can't even imagine the chaos that will make. And it would be mostly women. What a mess! So I guess we all better go out and stock up on chocolates. We can tell the husbands that we are just helping avoid a national disaster. They should understand.

I think my favorite candy would be the candy corn too. But I can't eat too many thank goodness. They are sweet. I do love caramel apples with nuts to.
