My daughter got engaged Tuesday night & the wedding is August 21 of this year! Pray for sanity for us both! We will be bookin it this summer!

Yes that is me in the first picture with Ashley! Everyone tells her we look alike! It doesn't seem to bother her. Does that mean I look ok?!? HAHA! The friends did not come back of course! I drove by yesterday & the tp is still in the trees! Kristin-you'll do great! The day just seemed to float by. All went great! Yes I am glad it is done!

Oh my there is no denying your daughter!!! Your 2 look so much alike. Beautiful pictures. I am so happy for your family. Hope the husbands friends came back and helped clean up LOL!! Like that would happen right!

What a beautiful bride Karla. Is that you in the 1st picture? Ya'll both look so pretty. I bet you are glad it's over and you can breath now. My daughter is getting married Sept. 3rd. I hope I make it.

Fall!!!! Oh my goodness now it is time to do the tomatoes!!! and the beans, & the peppers, & the potatoes. It never ends around here!!!

The wedding was Saturday & pretty much went without a hitch. Well except the grrom locked the keys in the car so when his friends went to get them at the house they decided to mess with it! They took all the labels off the canned goods, put rice on the ceiling fans, turned the furniture over, rubber banded the sprayer on the kitchen sink, & foamed the sinks. Ashley called me at 11PM to tell me all this!

I finished the pew decorations, put more feathers in the head piece, put the candles together, got the candles for the apple decorations, now all I think I have left is to make the potato salad for 150 people!

The wedding is this next weekend! I have pew decorations to finish, feathers to put in Ashley's head wear, table decorations to assemble (candles in holders with beads), potato salad to make on Friday, etc. I know I am forgetting something!! And I am soooooooo tired!

I misread and thought the wedding was next year. Oh my goodness, it's this year! You have been really busy getting this all together in such a short time. So disregard my information about purchasing ahead of time. lol

Congratulations to your daughter! My daughter is getting married in June of next year. We've booked the place and ordered the dress but there are so many other things, big and small, to do. And the expense! We're trying to spend a reasonable amount and it's still costing too much. One thing we're doing that you might also find helpful is to start purchasing things now so it's not so much at one time. Because we started looking at dresses way ahead of time we were able to wait until the one my daughter wanted went on sale. We found invitations and favors clearanced at Walmart for a quarter of the regular price. Saving on as many items as possible starts to add up over time.

We have one month left to finish. I have ribbons to put on the corsages, petals, to tint, candles & beads to out together, & pew flowers. I think I found my dress but have to ask Ashley if she thinks it is what she wants. So much to do so little time.

Ashley, Mike & I went to the courthouse to get the license last week-another biggy crossed off the to do list!! Now back to doing more rose petals! Ashley has a friend who may want me to do her silk flowers for her wedding next year-maybe this will turn into a new line of work for me!Whooooo hoooo!

I have been working on rose petals. She wants them laced with green so each one has to be done by hand-they don't take dye. I tried that. I am doing about 10-15 a day. Boy it makes your eyes crazy! Now I am looking for ideas to decorate the pews at the church-she has picked an old fashioned white church with wooden pews. It has the old steeple & all. She just wants somethng simple! Hope I find it soon!

Invitations came Wednesday & Ashley has them almost filled out already! She is motivated!!!I was going to help but I think she figured her mom's left handed writing would not be as nice!!HAHA!Oh well at least it is almost done!

Congratulation to you and your daughter Karla...like many on this topic, my daughter is getting married this summer, August 8th...we are having the wedding here at our home ... so much to do but my daughter and are are enjoying working together on it as I'm sure you will too...the special treat for us is that my family is all coming in from San Diego and Oklahoma a week before the wedding to help us get the house ready...
