There are some great town names out there and I'd love to hear some of them. I've heard of Pietown, NM and Coffeyville, KS. Those two should be closer together, lol.

I'm glad Humptulips, WA already made it on this list!!! Also like Sammamish,WA, Snohomish,WA , Issaquah,WA and Couer d Alene, ID because they are so hard to say unless you are from here! Cashmere, WA must be nice and soft and Bliss, ID must be full of happy people.

Feeling down? Saddle up!

From a more biblical standpoint here in Pa. we have Bethlehem ( pronounced my locals beth-lem) Nazareth, and Emmaus :)

Let's see in Colorado, there's Hygiene and Punkin Center and Raymer and New Raymer (I always wondered why they felt they needed a "new" Raymer. Some of the best though are the mountain names such as Granny's Nightcap and Granny's Nipple.

Bucksnort, TN
Hell, NY (I figgered it'd be funny to say that I'd been to Hell and back in my big rig)
A lot of the towns I was going to post have already been posted. There is a website that wants to know all the strange names. If you want to see some funny, ribald, risque names, take a look at some of the Australian names.

I've always liked Truth Or Consequences, NM and Knob Lick, Paint Lick, and Beaverlick KY (what's all the licking about?), and I'm still trying to figure how a place in West VA would be called "Big Ugly"!

I lived across the river from Hog Jaw, Arkansas. Actually, it's not an incorporated town, more of a region or maybe even just a state of mind. Up the road was Possum Kingdom and even further was Toad Suck.
