Hubby gets up at the crack of dawn and goes dear hunting
Every year he says he sees one and they are to far away.
he did get a 13 pointer a number of years ago.
I think he would rather watch them then shoot them if truth be told.
but, he decided to get this one.
He had to drag it down a long hill.
and he has problems with his back
Don't know why he didn't go after his truck.
silly man.
I reckon we will be eating deer and turkey the next few weeks. lol
I never cared for deer .
but I reckon we will have it anyways. hugs sheila

Yay for you Sheila. Deer meat is the most lean red meat there is. Very good for you! My dh got a 7 pointer about a month ago and we have already put quite a dent in the meat. Hoping he gets another one soon.

Lucky him! I love deer meat. Especially the sausage. I have my order in for one with some deer hunting friends. Hope we get a biggun'. I was going in to town this morning and saw a big buck and a doe. That's actually the first time I have ever seen a LIVE buck before. He had a nice rack, too. I was really surprised to see him still around.

jerkey is great too if you want to fool w/ a dehydrater
makes good chili if it's ground add enough spice and you can barely tell
it's all in how long the meat is soaked and water changed out
we have mad hunters all around us, so when we walk in the woods after work, the dog and I both wear something that is neon yellow and blaze orange.

Venison sausage is really good, you might want to try it.
