I dont have many people to chat with. And the ones I have i dont feel like I can bother with my problems anymore. I got back from the hospital yesterday afternoon for the second time. I went in for surgery finally for my Gallbladder. Well I went it on May 13th and got out 2 weeks later. Then I was home for 1 1/2 days and went back in with pneumonia and got back home yesterday afternoon. I cant go back to work until July 7th and then only partime. My husband has been so great. Taking care of the house and the dogs and coming to see me at the hospital. He said he didnt realize what I really did around the house and also worked outside the house. We are having problems with a shortage of money. But we will be getting food stamps next week. Which I feel a little bad about. But I know these days alot of people have to do what they have to do to survive. It will be a long recovery. I am not one to sit around...But I have to now. Sorry to burden you ladies with this, but it made me feel a little better to write this down.
Thanks Again

Wonders ladies...I am not draining much from the site the doctor pulled out the tube. I havent taken a pain pill since Monday. I am building up my stamina everyday. I am going to attempt cleaning the house a little today. And washing cloths...We have a small house so it wont take to much out of me. I thankyou ladies so much for your prayers and thoughtful posts. It really means alot to me. My dear hubby says ditto. I go back to work on July 7th. I am so looking forward to it.

Oh, Deborah! I am so glad that it didn't hurt! And all went well. I bet the docs love it when they can surprise people by pulling a fast one on them, in a good way. LOL! I know that shower at the end of the week is going to be soooooo refreshing! I am thanking God that everything has gone well! Now you can wipe your brow, saying "Shew!" while you do it, and relax.

I am so HAPPY that it all went well for you and did not hurt!!! I bet you will sleep so good tonight. Just think of the stories you can tell of different uses for overnight pads!! Maybe even a commercial, HA! Just glad it is done for you.

Well Ladies it is done...I just worked myself up so bad that I was a nervous wreck when I got there...The doc gave me some nubzet stuff around the site. I held the nurses hand and my hubby was sitting there watching the doc. Then he asked me several times if I was ready..Then he said...it is done, he had pulled it out before he asked me if I was ready...It didnt even hurt...I told him he was the best..So i got worked up over nothing...And people told me it was REALLY going to hurt. Now I have a overnight maxi pad on the hole in my stomach...He said it will drain out of this hole for a few days. Doc said the pads are the best to absorb the bile that will drain out...So now I have 2 weeks before I can go back to work...(July 7th)...And I already feel better..except for the weird feeling from taking 3 pain pills...I will be glad to get a real shower by the end of the week...Thank you ladies for all of your prayers and kind words...It really has meant alot to me...hugs to all of you.

Hi Deborah, I'm sorry I just found this thread. so glad you are almost through with the tube, getting that out should make you feel much better. I was lucky when I had mine out 31yrs ago, didn't need a drainage tube. My surgery wasn't an emergency so that makes the recovery much easier(that and I was 26 yrs old, lOL)

sending prayers for great days ahead. hugs Phyllis

Oh, Deborah, I know that it must have been a disappointment not to get the tube out, but how wonderful that you have such a good and caring doctor. It makes such a difference when you really feel that they have your best interest at heart and that you are not just another patient to be hurried through the system.

Still praying for you and glad that you are keeping us updated!

Hello Ladies, well I didnt get the tube removed yesterday. It was just a follow up visit. But I have an appointment next Monday. I have to go and they will put an IV in and give me antibiotics and then put dye into the tube to see if it is flowing right. If it is then I will go back to the doctors office at 430 and he will pull it out. I love my doctor and he has such a great bedside manner....He cares about his patients..I asked him when I get the tube out will I be able to stant up straight...he said yes and I will probably be a few inches taller..haha...great I wont be walking around like I am 100 yrs old. I will keep you posted.
Thanks Ladies

Yes Alee I know I wont sleep much tomorrow night. I was told by the nurse at the hospital that took such good care of me that this last tube will really hurt...The one she took out felt like my guts were being pulled out...and I am sure this last one will be worse because it has been in longer...and it is larger that the other one. OUCH!!!!!!

I hope you continue to feel better each and every day!!! Don't feel bad about food stamps that is what they are there for, to help out people when they need a helping hand. If you don't have to worry about the groceries then you can put the $$ elsewhere. The most important thing is you feel better and kudos to your great husband!!!
