Ok, girls, for the past two years I have had to be rather vague with what I told you here on the forum. Most of you know the issue with my stbx and understand that for safety issues I have to control what information about me is available on the internet. This past week, he discovered the major thing I did not want him to know, so now I am free to disclose it to you. I still can't say where I am, but atleast I can be open about my current situation.

Last spring, after surviving a semester of school alone with 4 children and a job, I was frazzled. My parent came and picked my children up for the summer and as fall aproached we all agreed that it would be best if the kids stayed with my parents. It was the hardest decission I ever had to make, I cried for a whole week.

Besides the financial problems we were having and my inability to afford good childcare, I was having a hard time emotionaly. After everything my children have been through, they have some big issues and I just wasn't doing a very good job helping them deal with their trauma. My parents on the otherhand have a stability that I don't and the family and financial resources that allows them to care for the children at home and put them back into a homeschool situation. I am now able to focus on putting myself back together emotionaly and spiritualy so that I can make a life for the children and I eventualy.

Last week, Martin showed up at my parents church durring sunday morning service and discovered that my children are there. He isn't trying to take them (thank God), but does visit. It's been really hard on the kids, especially my oldest George who rememebers the most. Martin is still mentaly ill and will not take medication. he denies all of the horror he put is through and it makes George doubt himself and his memories. Unfortuanely, the state of NC wont do anything to keep him away.

One way or another he was bound to find us sometime and atleast in this situation I know that my babies are safe. Since my parents don't have the fear of him that I do, they are far better equipt to deal with the situation than I would be.

Rather long...I know. It's just that I think of you ladies as dear friends and it has been so hard keeping this from you. It is such a part of my life and effects me in so many ways. I often find myself having to edit my posts to keep it from showing through.

I love you all. Thanks for being here for me through all of this.

Corrine - how wonderful for you and your children that your parents have been able to help out in this way. My parents were there for me when I was a struggling single mom dealing with ex-issues too and it has made all the difference for me and my son. I will be thinking about you, good luck with everything.

Thankyou, girls. Your love honestly brought tears to my eyes. Somedays, I get discoraged, but I know that as a whole life is so much better than what it once was. Atleast now we have hope and a future.

I'm just glad you and the kids are ok. I tell you, without the support of family, I'd probably be dead or still very unhappy. Parents are the best

And having been in a similar situation as you, I have NO faith in the juducial system

be safe!

Corrine, I have wondered how you wre truly faring with all that your life has gone through. Will continue praying for you and your family.
Corrine, you are an amazing mother, who did what was right for her children even though it caused you much pain. That truly is the definition of a good mother, doing the best for her children. You, my dear, are one amazing woman. You have lived through a war, moving, loss of everything you knew as it used to be, made the brave choice of allowing your children to be at your parents, knowing they needed the stability and you need the time to heal. Yes, my friend, you are one amazing woman and we are proud of you.

Corrine. you will be in my thoughts and prayers and the kids, too. It does sound like you have made a wise choice for the kids sakes. Your parents sound wonderful. I have had to take my grandkids in several times, so I know what it's like. They are safe and in good hands with them.

Goodness, you have been through the wars! You have taken very good care of your children and it is wonderful that your parents are there for you, and for them. Life gets so complicated sometimes. Take good care of yourself, that is often hard for a mother to remember, especially when you are in the midst of hard times.

Corrine, parents are wonderful, aren't they? And who better to take care of the children than two people who certainly love them dearly. Take good care of yourself, little by little, things will be clearer and life will be better. Hugs, Nance
