Well, for me, the list seems endless...
To serve God in a way that helps me achieve the dreams He's placed in my heart
To be in control of my eating and therby my weight
To speak French fluently
To spend weeks or even months enjoying Europe: esp. Provence
To own a successful yarn store similar to the Yarn Nook, where there are incredibly simple, yet stunningly beautiful examples of work, incredible yarns, a comfortable couch and multiple leather chairs to sit and knit, with wonderful fellowship & to have the expertise to give lessons
To love my work and be able to support myself financially in the lifestyle I desire
To find and keep the joy in my marriage again
To earn and save the money for a rennovation on our 100 yr old house, without debt.
I also agree with:
Meg: find some kindred spirits that live close-by

Melanie: a new kitchen without the hole in the ceiling (mine has a hole in the floor due to termite damage, 1/2 my kitchen floor is covered with sheets of underlayment

Corrine: a degree (I've started and stopped 3X's so far)
an exciting job that pays well

Beth: the knowledge and time to do all of the crafts I want to learn
Kris: Be totally solar and not be dependant onthe electric company

There's more, as I'm sure most of us have, but these are the desires closest to my heart right now...

Let's see..Someday????
Home of my own with a backyard garden, closeline, lawn to mow. Kitchen with a walk in pantry stocked to cook anything I wanted at any time. Craft room and the time to spend hours making anything my creative flow directs me.

There is no set path, follow your heart stay the course.

I would like time to do some of the crafty things I want to do!

I would like another kitty to keep my boy kitty company.

My dream is to have someone clean my house once in a while.
createmyworld Posted - Feb 21 2009 : 10:35:31 PM
these are so fun to read, and to think about... mine are...
1. a property with enough room for a garden, fruit trees, a cozy little home (with a great big porch and swing) and a 2 story barn (workshop for my craft interests)
2. have that dream property be in a small sparsely populated town, near mountains full of trees
3. a kiln for glass fusing, precious metal clay and pottery (and a wheel for throwing pottery)
4. a spinning wheel and loom to spin my own fibers and weave them
5. the knowledge and time to do all of the crafts I want to learn, read all the books I hope to read, and do all of the other crafts which I already enjoy!

Heather, if you are young enough--go for it!. I should have done my dream years and years ago. My grandparents house was only 12 x 24 feet or so. It had two rooms, a bedroom and a kitchen. I've been told by a cousin that my grandmother was content with what she had. I would love to be like her. She and my grandfather worked hard for their home and property--as I have for what I have. DARN, should have purchased a lottery ticket tonight. LOL I just turned 67 today and have another dream to try for--a college degree.

Betty, that dream is similiar to one of mine. If I ever hit the lottery, I am going to go buy my Papa's house that he and his brothers built from scratch, find a HUGE chunk of land and move it.

My exotic dream is to reclaim my grandfather's homestead, at least the part of it that has the buildings on it. I would really love to create a home out of the barn. This is it, only a dream. I had so many fond memories growing up there until my step-father moved us so far away. Went back in 2005 and the dreams welled up again. I'm 67 today and too old to realize my dream. If I were younger, then maybe so.

2. fill it up with a cosy, warm, family.
3. find some kindred spirits that live close-by. The Diana to my Anne lives too far away :)
4. edit my novel and publish it.
5. wear vintage-style dresses everyday!

Just having my hubby getting healthier day-by-day. He had an allergic reaction to Aleeve last fall and is still having health issues-he was in total kidney failure. It may be at least another 6 months to a year to see real progress. This is difficult and for him, very humbling too. Just one day at a time. We know his kidneys have been completely healed but as he tells everyone, the walking out the healing is the real process! And yes, I too have dreams but they all seem to evaporate from view when I put it into perspective that I could have lost my guy last year. When he's back in the saddle
again, then I'll get back to dreamin'.

Such simple dreams we all have, but nice, practical ones. Funny no one REALLY wishes for riches, though we WOULD all like to be comfortable, wouldn't we?

Like Belle though, I have already been blessed with most of what you ladies long for-- Answered prayers I made to God when I was kid-- who says he DOESN'T listen? LOL!! -- and it's a FAMILY owened farm, not soley ours, but I'm ok with that)

Truthfully, my dream is to get all my "Blessings" under CONTROL!!! I suppose that will happen only if I put a little more effort into it. That's all on ME though, isn't it? So, I guess my dream is to have the drive and the energy to get my life orginized, get the critters and all their "Offerings" under control. I'd also like to have a clean house for more than FIVE minutes a day. Not so impossible I think. The kids will be grown and gone soon enough, so I guess I'm halfway there!!! Ahh... but I'll STILL have the HUSBAND..... sigh......

Happy Dreaming ladies! ~~~ Hugs ~~~ Tracy

I love reading everyone's someday list. Funny how so many of what is on other's list, I already have. Don't want any more grandkids, got the farm, chickens, gardens, already made several quilts. Also so many things I want to add to my list. Marian, I want a motor bike too.
And a puppy, but not bad enough to go get one.

Right now all I want is a nap.
kristin sherrill Posted - Feb 20 2009 : 10:35:36 AM
1-I would love to be the same size I was before kids.
2-Get my farm all cleaned up and pretty.
3-Build a cute little garden shed out front to put all my garden stuff in so I don't have to be always looking for things.
4-Clear out all the clutter in this house.
5-Be totally solar and not be dependant onthe electric company. i'd also like to have our well hooked back up to the house so we won't have city water.
