Posted - Dec 07 2008 : 4:58:56 PM Are you like me, that no matter how much you accomplish in your life, no matter what it is, it never seems like enough? Well hubby opened my eyes today and gave me great perspective. He pulled out all of my certificates, Charlie's birth certificate, college paper and achievements, military honors, my current college transcript,etc...and put them all on the table for me see. I was getting down on myself for not doing enough or getting ahead and WOW!!! Seeing all that stuff puts things in perspective for me. So no more getting down on myself...I have come a L O N G way baby!!!

Posted - Dec 08 2008 : 03:30:24 AM That's something we should have tried for my mom.
She had a litle mid life crisis and was in a quandry about her life a few years ago.
These days she volunteers at the habitat for humanity thrift store and, has really brought in more revenu thanks to her sharp eye and expertese in antiquing. She also continues to keep her nursing license current and uses this to assist in their comunity. Since her children have left home, both she and my dad are busier now than they ever were.
My life has been based on multiple failures......all thus far have turned out for the better. So sometimes when I'm having one of those down moments, I think about graduating college, living on my own successfully, 1000 + miles from home and never quitting no matter what the nay sayers say or predict.
It's the fires we come out of that make us the diamonds in the end |

Posted - Dec 07 2008 : 6:09:59 PM I get so down because I feel like I have been trugging uphill, never feeling accomplished in anything. I know once I get my Bachelor's, that will be a HUGE relief. Just a little perspective on how far I have come helps. : )
