Posted - Dec 04 2008 : 2:47:19 PM In one of the other threads we were talking about job cuts and the economy. One of the Farmgirls suggested that we should focus on the positive, instead of thinking about the bad new to list what we are grateful for. I agree with her 100%. I can be negative and that made me snap out if it!! I'm starting this thread and I will try to come every day to post what I am grateful for. Will you join me?? Let's see how big we can make this thread with all our gratefulness. It only has to be a line or two, or more if you like.
Today I'm grateful for the beautiful winter sunshine out my dining room window.

Posted - Dec 20 2008 : 02:44:11 AM today I am grateful for the evening I had last night with my family. We got on our jammies, ate pizza, made big mugs of hot chocolate and rode around looking at Christmas lights. It was so fun with a 2 and 5 year old, and a preggy daughter, and my hubby.....son in law did the driving....so grateful for the memories it made.

Today I'm grateful for my wonderful students. They pulled together to help another student's children have a Christmas! Instead of being competitive they have decided to work as a team to get everyone through our program which is very difficult at times.![](icons/icon_smile.gif) |

Posted - Dec 17 2008 : 07:00:04 AM What a lovely topic!! I've lots to be grateful for these days. I'm blessed with a wonderful marriage. I'm blessed with a houseful of teens and one tag-along "baby" who keep things lively. I'm blessed to be living out in the country. It's a rainy day, helping slowly to get us out of this drought. My hubby has work and we aren't looking at any lay-off that we know of (amazing how people keep building even in hard times...at least so far, they are building a bank right now!). I get to stay home and be mom, homemaker and farmgirl. I have a grandma I love who taught me the heart of what it is to be a farmgirl..which she managed to be while working a full time nursing job to support her 4 children...I have other family I love, but my MaMa just shines for me. I have lovely smelling hay in the shed to feed my animals. I have a nice warm fire going in the woodstove with a silly corgi dog snoring in front of it (my beagle is roaming the yard, he wants nothing to do with drowsing before a fire LOL). I have a pantry that could easily get us thru a month or two with no shopping needed except fresh milk..and a freezer of venision that will last us until next hunting season even if we had to eat it 4 times a week! A nice cup of hot chocolate beside me as I type and good music on low in the background. Technically all "small things"...but such is the stuff of a real life!! I'm content...especially since I have found a whole forum of potential new farmgirl friends!!!
