Have you ever heard of Garlic Scapes? Have you eaten them? I got some in my CSA farm box (a great box full of all organic fruits and veggies). So I got out MJ's Idea book, because I remembered she wrote an article about Garlic Scapes. It is a very informative article with pics and recipes. I made the Roasted Garlic Scapes. So easy. So yummy. Check them out in MJ's book.

One type of garlic we grew this year had them, so I shared some with neighbors, chopped some to saute in olive oil with tomato and oregano and made bruschetta, used them in roasted potatoes, used em all up, really :) They're pretty wonderful, and I love that when you cut them from the plant, there is an OVERWHELMING smell of garlic in the air!!! My husband called it "garlic juice" in the air :)

ooh they look so yummy..we like to roast garlic cloves and then squeeze the garlic out onto toasted french bread..with an italian style dinner there is nothing like it. I have never tasted the garlic scapes before though..will definitely have to put it on my list of things to grow..garlic and scapes so that I can definitely try it one day.

That's good to know, Julie. I was at my Mother's in Langley and the neighbor had them growing in her veggie garden. . MB
