Great job on your basket Joy! One of my best friends makes baskets in her free time. I just talked with her and they were having a Nantucket basket making workshop at our Ag Resource building here. They have a few basket things going on there and then the KY Basket Association workshop is in Corbin. Here is the website: http://www.thekentuckybasketassociation.org/

Basket making is such a wonderful old art. I think it is just wonderful that you're keeping it alive.

Wow how cool. I love baskets. I have quite a few. Maybe I should learn how to make them, but then again right now I have too much to do maybe when the kids all grow up and move out???? LOL Thanks for sharing!!!

awesome! i am facinated with basket making. i made one last spring from grape vines and wild cherry saplings...very primitive, but it was SOOO heavy! i made it for use in the garden, but my arm would have fallen off if i'd started putting anything in it.
