If you need a refresher on what I'm looking for, read the following:

From my first posting:
"There are so many of us Farmgirls from so many places, even within the same state. What are your favorite local haunts? I'd like to create a Farmgirl Travel Guide for those of us on the forum, so if I'm ever in say, Stanwood Washington (where Marybeth lives, and Marybeth isn't home), I can do the things that Marybeth loves to do...which is probably what I'd want to do anyway--the key is this: When in Rome...you do what the locals do, eat what the locals eat, etc...to find the true blue hidden wonders of those towns and surrounding areas."

So, submissions would be things like:
Restaurants-what farmgirl DOESN'T like food?
Groceries/Farmers Markets-for camping, buying organics for picnics, etc..
Antique stores-self explanatory
Thrifts-" "
Sewing, knitting, notions stores-" "
Local Crafting--things made by locals that you can only get in your area- I like to buy local and handmade. I know you do too.
history and musuems
Geological interests (parks/hiking,etc.)

If there is a website, list it. If there is a phone, list it. But definitely (at the very least) a tangible address--List the city, and maybe what larger city/area it's near, if any.

I'd be very willing to work on this if anyone else is interested in having a guide. We can update it bi-annually, or as things come (and go)...I will compile the information under categories, cities, regions.

I am posting a list after this posting of who has already submitted and what regions are being covered...

Alas, this project has gotten buried under all the other things I've been doing lately! I'll have to dig it up again. There are so many nice little places to visit in this corner of Ontario.
Apologies for being so disorganized!

Wonderful, Pam! All the info should be right up there in that first post, but in sum, if a fellow farmigirl came to your town and the surrounding area, and you weren't home (shucks!), what handy dandy guide book to all YOUR favorite LOCAL haunts would you leave her? Places like the best greasy spoon, an organic grocery if she wanted to take a picnic to your favorite park. Your favorite knitting/sewing/crafting store...the idea here is "off the beaten path" and "local businesses", not big box stores that we all have in our towns--how would this farmgirl get the REAL flavor of your town and county?

I just saw this too! Since I am in a different part of Georgia than the others, I'll be glad to add what I can also. I need to read from the start to make sure what is needed. Just places to visit in this area of Georgia?

You can never have enough friends.

Thanks, Patricia! I know you've had so much going on...it means a great deal, though, that we can all contribute and be included.

You never know when a fellow farmgirl will pass through your town!!!!

That's super fine, Mima and Meg--
With Spring in the air, it's becoming easier to think about "travel" so I'm happy this is happening...you can take the time you need, I realize this season is full of "to do's" :)

Hi Jonni,
I'm running late as well. I've had guests all week and haven't had a quiet moment to sit down and write everything out! I'll get it out by this weekend though.
Thanks!

That's alright, Amy...take your time and let me know if you need an "out". I completely understand. I've been in the beginning stages of formulation and structure, and then I will have everything the way I want it :) I'm still shooting for the end of April, and yesterday was only the first....
