I am just curious. What type of internet connection do you have?

Dial Up?
Cable Modem?
Broadpoint Wi-Fi (Like a campus)?
DSL
Other?

We have sloooow dialup at home. we too are out too far to have cable run, and too frugal to buy into satelite. Besides, hubby already is a chanel surfer, and 100 more would only drive me crazier. I get a taste of this anytime we go on vacation and there is cable in the room.

I do most surfing at work before hours. There its high speed

We did however just dip our toe into the 21st century and got our first digial camera.!!! Stay tuned and maybe I can figure out how to finally start sharing my world too!

Alee, I read your post and laughed. That is still me with the old dial up ~ I seem to always be years behind with technology. No cell phone. No direct TV. Oh well, I just got internet last year so I'm feeling pretty fancy! How would I ever get the laundry done if I didn't have the long pauses between pages?

Blessings, Lea

Think I may have to bite the bullet and go with satellite. High speed all around us and not on this street. Aggravating to no end. Half the time, I can't even access any websites, so will be glad to tell AOL goodbye for good!

Alee, that sounds like me now! I multitask while waiting for pages to load. I tidy or wash dishes.

I love my high speed internet, but I remember the days of dial up. I remember when internet first came out and you could go and get a cup of coffee, come back and one pixel line of a picture was all that had loaded. LOL

Dial up. I suppose I could stop being cheap and go DSL.

Maybe after the holidays.

We have satellite. I got tired of connecting speeds of 9600 with our dial up. It took hours to download site. We are on the oldest phone line out this way and some of the sites wouldn't load because the line could not carry their signal.

Peanut, I don't think you have to get satellite tv at the same time, ours is on it's own dish and it is billed separetly.

we got DSL last January. They finally brought the line out to our house after I called religiously everyday for a year!!!! I love it. We also made our house wifi so I can take my laptop outside or in the barn and get service.

Just got hooked up to cable last week, decided to get a gmail addy rather than keep changing my email everytime I change carriers.

I think it is DSL...it is through our local telephone company (which is also the cable company and internet provider here in our tiny town) We had dial up for a long time..this is sure better.

Dial-up. I could get satellite, but we don't particularly want satellite tv.

Upgraded from dial up to DSL earlier this year when it became available...what a difference, especially since I telecommute at least one day a week...
