Please be sure to read Meg's request below for your choice of crafts for our big day!!

Invitations have been mailed out and I cannot wait to see all of you! I promised hotel info, and am giving you the name of the best one in our area. It is about 20 minutes from my house (because we live in the boonies) but it is simple, simple to get there from the hotel. So, if you need a room for the night, call:

Country Inn and Suites
2192 Mount Zion Parkway
Morrow, GA 30260
770-603-3232

This is where me sister and her family stay when they all come to visit, so it comes well-recommended.

You may want to check with each other and see about sharing a room.
Here is the list of those who have said they would come (from out-of-town):

queenofdreamsz4u
jpbluesky
smoothiejuice
mima (if only she can convince her hubby that Georgia is the place to be on the 8th)

Kathie- did you want to come? I will send you an invite asap if you do! :)

Karin,

Thank you so much for such a wonderful day! You were such a gracious and wonderful hostess! Mom and I had just the best time with all you fabulous farmgirls. I am loving our new rag rug skill! All my girlfriends back home are so excited to learn.

THANK YOU - Karin, Mary Jane, Meg, Katy, Lucas & cutie little Stella Jane!

It was such a blast!!

in answer Jess, yes we did have the best time and the rest of this week has been downhill, but days like Monday can keep you going for quite a while. I'm game for doing this anytime, but I suppose we should let Karin recover.

Thank you so much for your warm hospitality Karin. I would love to come out and do another farmgirl get together. I hope you are well rested after such a wonderful day. I'm hoping for that recipe as well. I am so glad that I went and got to commune with like minded sisters. Thank you MJ,Meg,Lucas,Stella, and Katy for coming such a long way to share with us your talents. I really do feel blessed to know so many warm hearted wonderful women.

Karin - thank you again and again. Hope you are resting today, and if it is possible, I would love that vidalia pie recipe. Yum, yum. Oh, and the taco soup, too!

My pleasure. And I truly mean that. Who wouldn't want to surround themselves with such wonderful women and spend an entire day doing the things that we love?
When can we do this again?

Thank you is so inadequate for such a wonderful day. But thank you indeed, and to Cilla/Lucy as well for I know how hard you both worked to make everything just perfect for us all. This is by far the best wedding aniversary I've ever had. And since DH is such a fan of rugs he will be the recipient of the day as well for years to come. It was such a treat to meet MaryJane after all these years of of admiration from afar. And a lovelier icon one could not envision, so warm and gracious, as were Meg and Katy(Yeah I can tat now). I suppose I am what is known as a lurker, I often read the post, but rarely post myself, but now I think I have a new soft place to fall. Everyone was beyond nice, and nice does truely matter in this world.
Thank you again, Karin, as allways you know just how to make things perfect.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Karin who worked so hard and was so gracious and sweet at the Georgia craft day with MJ and Meg and Katy (and Stella jane and Lucas!)

The food was absolutely wonderful....the house perfect for a farmgirl gathering, and now I am hooked on something I would never have tried if not for all of you - Rag Rug making. When I got home last night, I was still all excited and full of thoughts, so I sat up until midnight working on my rug, and I can't wait to find more sheets to tear up!

MaryJane and Meg and Katy - you are wonderful and patient teachers. And everyone there was so nice and fun to talk to. How great to hear the voices and see the faces of names I see everyday on this board. It was a wonderful day, and I wish we could have stayed on as long as the others. I can't wait to hear how the rest of the day went after 4:30.

Thank you again!

Jess- Don't worry! I already had put you down for both. In fact, I put everyone down for both. And I even have extra supplies if more that the original count comes along. I will call you this am. I'm up and can't sleep, but I promise it will be at a reasonable hour. ha ha

Debi- He needs to be detoured off the warpath. I'm telling you- I'll bake him a cake, a pie, a roast- whatever! Dang. What would Harriet and Janie do? I have your picture here- remember? I will make it bigger and put you in a place of honor. Just make sure that you crochet or tat something on the 8th. OK?
You know what? It never occurred to me that this would not be a Farmgirl Gathering for anyone who could come. How often does an opportunity like this come along?
I've got a really cute extra craft planned. It will go together in a snap. Well, maybe two snaps. But we are going to fill this day with fun, creativity and friendship! Oh, and food.

Okay - I will probably sit there looking at all my "new" friends and not say a word or do a thing! I hope I can function with the excitement I will be feeling! Tatting? Rag Rug making? I will give both of these a try, as they will both be new to me. But as long as I am there, anything is okay!!!!

I know!! Karin is soo awesome about inviting gals from this board!! She could have just invited her "local" friends!!!Karin definately has ALL those wonderful Farmgirl qualities!!
Kathie! I love you! I would give my teeth(at least the silver filling ones....) to fly out there! My husband has been on the warpath with the money issue-hence-I finally got a job! I understand-he's ready to retire and my kids go to very expensive private colleges! I'm on a very tight leash!!! But I'll be thinking about all you guys all day long!!! Take LOTS of pictures!!!!!!Hugs and more hugs!
Kathie Posted - Sep 26 2007 : 3:36:51 PM
Oh Mima!! Are you sure you can't??

We are driving in..
If you can fly.. we'll pick you up.. & you can even stay the nite of the 7th with us!!!
Think about it woman!!!

Meg.. I feel SOO much better knowing that YOU too have been "Tatting challanged!!"
If all else fails we can sit off to the side & sulk.. or.. Compare notes on Mini Apron's or someting! OR giggle at everyone else making an attempt at what we just absolutley KNEW we couldn't do to begin with!! ( I'm leaning towards the latter!!)

But which ever it turns out to be.. i Just Know we will all have a fantastic time!!

THANKS SO MUCH Karin For Sharing your day with everyone!!
