Ladies, I need your prayers. Well, thank you all so far and I need more. Lots.

I had an MRI of lumbar and pelvis yesterday and the report today says there is a tumor 3"x2" in my lower right abdominal wall. This is obviously a recurrence as I had cervical cancer, stage 1B almost 2 years ago. WEll, no one knows for sure and I am praying it is noncancerous growth, but the very real possibility of a recurrence exists.

To say I am feeling sad is an understatement. I need prayers for encouragement and support from all my friends here. I am scared about the unknown treatment.

I have two lovely children (7 and 15) who need me, and I need help staying upbeat and focused.

So, tonight I am going to release cathartic tears and then move on to being brave. Monday I will be showing up o nthe doorstep of the gyn oncologist who assured me back in June "There's absolutely no indication of cancer." So much for listening to me when I told him I had pain.

The MRI was ordered by a Infectious Disease Specialist my family doctor refered me to. The results were just give one day later to him and my family doctor. My family doctor broke the news to me.

Tomorrow, Monday 8/27, DH is going to take me down to the gyn onc office. I know my doctor sees patients on Mondays and Wednesdays. I have waited anywhere from 3-5 hours to see him for follow-up check-ups as new patients with "problems" just identified go in first. I believe this situation constitutes a new problem. The office is 2 hours away so I don't want to wait for a wed appointment from a morning call.

I'll keep you posted. I am sure they will go over the report in better detail and order some tests, probably bloodwork and let me know what a possible plan will be.

Please keep me in prayers, especially to remain peaceful and calm.

8/28/07 I saw the gyn oncologist. Today I will be set up with a time and date for the biopsy. The spot in "out of the parameters of normal". So, the story is that my surgery from almost two years ago went well, my lymph nodes were clean, and there was no expectation for this. The ulltrasounds cover the pelvic area, and this spot is on my back wall, above the top of the right hip bone. It was not expected or anticipated. Biopsy next and then follow-up appointment with results and a plan of action.

I am still praying for grace and healing. I have my request in to God for a BENIGN tumor. I am leaving it in his hands as he created an opening with the doctor for me yesterday. However, it never hurts to keep up the petitions!

Friday, August 31 is CT scan and bloodwork.
Thursday, September 6 is consult and biopsy.
September 10 I see oncologist for report/results.

All the tests are done. Monday is the big meeting with the oncologist. The good news is my bloodwork seems good. two things are off which are red flags to me as last time around they were not. However, the Ct scan revealed all my organs are clear. That was a true blessing.

the bad news is the CT scan revealed the source as a very large spot in the muscle of teh right buttock, right up next to teh bone, right around blood vessels and nerves. The spots o nthe abdominal wall are seconday. They used the words "lesion" and "metastases" which I did not like. Well, the biopsy will tell it all.

I have been promised by the doctor's nurse that the reports will be sent out to as many other clinics/specialists I want to gather info on how to proceed.

It was a really hard day yesterday.

Dearest Clare, Add my Amen to Lindy's prayer. Will be thinking of you tomorrow, will be with you right by your side, we all will be!!!! There is a great Rascal Flatts song out there called Stand. If you can get your ears on it it might help inspire you. This is the chorus "Cause when push comes to shove you show what you're made of. You might bend till you break cause it's all you can take. On your knees you look up, decide you've had enough. You get mad, you get strong, wipe your hands, shake it off, then you Stand!"
Stand Clare and we'll be there to support you!
Love,
Kelly

I forgot to tell you what amazing women you are. I feel like I am on the praire, and I have such wonderful neigbor ladies, taking time from their busy lives to help me.

I'm already planning my attack on this and are mentally hitting it already with big bombs. I'm going to really enjoy my family this weekend and be ready for action next week!

Life is never what it seems. You just get adjusted to one idea and think it is OK, you can cope. Then, another curve ball gets thrown at you.

Yesterday, I felt like someone kept hitting me o nthe ehad with a baseball bat. today, I am up though.

One good thing, I am now on the pain medicine, and I take it with food, and it is helping some. I really wanted to get off the ibuprofen. And, I have a really comfortable recliner to sleep supported in. The pain from the biopsy set in after the anasthesia wore off. In two days time, though, I should feel better.

Monday is another big day as I meet with the gyn onc. I still have this hope that it is all wrong and it is just a really bad infection.
