I don't know if it's so much a phobia as a cultural thing as an american, raised to believe that it's beyond disgusting to come in close contact with our own waste, which I guess could then could become a sort of phobia... I know I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive about washing my hands after I touch anything, but that could be a good/bad thing.
I've considered using cloth, but I think I'm a ways off from being able to actually do it. And Bo would probably never go for it. I don't think he'd ever actually be ok with using and re-using cloth wipes, especially if he knew they'd end up in the same place as his "clean" laundry. I think I'd be ok with it if I lived somewhere where I didn't have to share a washer and dryer with other people...

Posted - May 14 2008 : 07:51:27 AM Belle Do you put anything in the water that you soak in?? & what do you wash them with? I have 2 flannel sheets that were being used for the dogs that have huge holes in them, & this may be the perfect opportunity to try this( I could make about 100 TP sheets!!) |

Posted - May 13 2008 : 9:36:08 PM i have also been using cloth tp for about a year and a half. it's so much easier and uses so much less water than used in the production of the paper itself.

Posted - Apr 22 2008 : 9:25:25 PM I think it is a great idea. I do believe it would be difficult to get my family to buy in, however!

Posted - Apr 22 2008 : 06:17:04 AM OK, Belle, you win the award for most creative/frugal/farmgirl/natural use of a necessary item in society. I am trying like heck to figure out if I could do this. No reason why not, I suppose, just .... hmmm. Thinking about this, trying to wrap my mind around it...thanks for the inspiration!

Posted - Apr 21 2008 : 10:46:43 PM Yes, We use this for all toilet situations. It is just like taking care of cloth diapers. Sometime we throw the cloth wipes that have been used for #1 in with the towel but not always.
The're GREAT! Belle

Posted - Apr 21 2008 : 10:42:31 PM I'm not sure how to put this delicately - but do you use the flannel for.... um,... ALL toilet situations? I suppose it's not much different than soaking cloth diapers is it?
