Posted - Dec 22 2008 : 06:43:40 AM For awhile, I have really wanted to decorate in a beach cottage look, really simple with greys, blues, some pink with white furniture and window treatments and not a lot of stuff. I got some great ideas online and watched some things on HGTV and what not. So I decided I am going to go for it for 2009. I have a small budget of $500 for the year. This is not all in one chunk, but as I find things and can fit them into the budget, I will work on it. This also means A LOT of stuff is going to go. I am over the country look right now. Been in the mode for 10 + years. I am so excited. I am going to have another yardsale and sell what I can and use that money to fund the new look. Just thought I would share. ![](icons/icon_smile.gif)

Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others, you should put a good deal of thought into the happiness that you are able to give. |

Posted - Dec 23 2008 : 1:22:19 PM you "might" could find some things to get the look you want on etsy..do a search under "vintage" and type in nautical/sailor,seaside/seashore/mermaid and things like that..you may be able to find what you are looking for there...and be able to stay in budget. I like to shop there for vintage retro. just a thought...

Posted - Dec 22 2008 : 06:54:52 AM Go for it Heather! I have found my "style" evolving over the years also. I'm still in the country look to a point, but I'm really finding the cluttery country look claustaphobic any more. Lean, and pared down is what appeals to me now, almost primitive.
