Finally peeking out. There are 20 bulbs, I'll have to keep a count, see if they all come up.
Sara, I'm so excited, Thanks for telling me about Eden Bros.

Wanda Sue! Yay! Your bulbs are still there!
Grace, I love purple crocus! I had them at my house in the city, here in the country, the moles ate them.

Grace your crocuses are very pretty! I am so happy because I can see some of my daffodils finally breaking through. So the moles or squirrels didn’t get them all.

My Daffys are still sleeping but some of my crocuses are starting to pop up…
The down side is it’s supposed to snow this coming Saturday/Sunday.
Oh Joy!

Well Connie Sue, I assumed it was squirrels because we have several nests in surrounding trees, but it might also be moles. We will be mindful of that as we start working in our flower beds this spring.

Judith, Do you have Moles that tunnel, they will eat anything in their path. Was it because of weather?

Wanda Sue, moles ate a lot of my bulbs when I first moved to the country. My Cats over the years ran them off. I loved that HGTV show That used to come on, "Gardening by the Yard". He said, the only bulb a Mole won't eat is a Light Bulb! lOL!

I love king Alfreds, I have a lot of them around an oak tree that I planted 30 years ago. They are tough! They stand firm, blooming in the snow some years. They usually bloom in March here.

I ordered the King Alfred daffodils from Eden Brothers and planted them this past fall. I have been anxiously waiting to see them pop out of the ground. Sadly in the last week I found where the squirrels have dug up one bulb and chewed on it, and then found holes where others were supposed to be. Crossing my fingers and hoping they missed a few.

We have another winter storm warning for Wednesday and Thursday.
My new daffodils are up about 3 inches. I'm glad they aren't budding.
I went out to top up my finch feeders so I picked some of the wild ones before the wintery mix starts Tomorrow evening

Connie, my Eden Bros daffodils have been about 1" beginning in late Dec. They made it through the freezing temps. Now they are 4 - 5".

How exciting! I'm in the same boat as Dawn - keeping an eye out for the crocuses.

My daffodils have leaves but no blossoms yet. I'm thinking my 40 year old bulbs might need some new blood. We usually have them blooming by Valentines day.

That's a sure sign of spring Connie! Enjoy your daffodils as they continue to grow and bloom. We are getting snow right now and have a week of 20s predicted for here in the Chicago area. My crocus haven't even made an appearance yet and I am hoping to see them pop up by March.
