Posted - Sep 14 2006 : 05:25:00 AM Figured while I'm at it I would ask for help with Italian Plums, or what I think are Italian Plums....small deep purple, oval and yummy. I do not want them to go to waste so any ideas for recipes or how to can/freeze them? Thank you so much. Julia

Posted - Sep 14 2006 : 09:21:15 AM I washed and then split some in half and put them in the dehydrator. They were great and kept their sweetness. I did store the bags in the freezer though, as they were hard to get completely dry.

Posted - Sep 14 2006 : 08:43:03 AM I have an OLD dying tree that is still producing (this might be its last year, though, as I may have to cut it down).
My mom takes the plums and makes a coffee cake with them. She's also stewed them.
I just eat them out of hand -- but that doesn't take care of many of them!
Good luck! And enjoy! Karin |

Posted - Sep 14 2006 : 08:32:13 AM You can wash them and freeze them whole. That's what I did with my excess. I have wild plums.
