I went to a class at our library last night about rain gardens. I have an area in my yard that floods during rains. Which then causes my elderly neighbors to get water in their basement. I usually hook up a hose and pump it out to the street.

If I can find the right plants for my area, partial sun, northside of house - I would love to put one in. Everything I learned last night is leading me to believe it will work.

Wondering if anyone has put their own in?

These are all IL natives, so they should work pretty well for you in "The City". Sadly, I didn't see a date for the plant sale :(

No, but the library where I used to work had one and it did a great job. It was really pretty with all the native plants and flowers, too.
