| I'm curious - do any of you collect souvenir pennies? It's something I've done since I was a kid. I haven't gone to a lot of places, but I have a nice little collection of them. |

| We do Heather!! We don't have many either, but we look for them when ever we venture out, which isn't much it seems. My hubs and oldest are self employed so it's hard to get a way for vacation it seems. We managed to get a couple from Glacier National Park when we there back in August for a fly by! I believe our Bend bowling alley still has a machine, I'll have to check into it, if so, I'll send you one!! They are so much fun! |

Are souvenir pennies the ones you put in a machine and squish-stamp them into an oval?
They turn into flooring around here...

Chris - yup! Those are the souvenir pennies. What is that floor in?

Denise - Wright Pat. has some neat designs. I have a couple from there. The Ohio caverns have a machine too if you ever go there.

We haven't been to Ohio caverns but definitely have one from Wright-Patt.
Someone spent loads of time doing that floor for sure.
On a side note, when we in the military the guys always came home with coins and paper they got when overseas. One of our friends took his coins and put them on top of a trunk he had built. Used epoxy. I imagine they still have that trunk. We really should do some similar with JT's. |

| Yep-- penny floor was the first "couples" renovation when we bought the house. It was vintage linoleum that looked hammered from all the high heel traffic. Jens and I covered it in pennies and epoxy resin like the trunk Denise mentioned. We had grand plans of hiding secret designs in it, but the resin dried too fast to do anything more than line 'm up. Can't beat the cost per square foot (not including labor) though! |
