It seems like I just posted to to welcome in June and here we are in July already. We are just hanging out at the house for the 4th as the kids will be visiting the in laws. I don't mind and since it is 3 days off for JT maybe we can get some things done if the weather will dry up. We have had a very wet summer so far.
The rain seems to bring in those bigger ants. Trying to keep ahead of the little creatures who come in when it rains.
It does help me stay in the craft room more so I watch movies and work on some of my ufp's.
Towards the middle of the month we are going to Cincy for a 40's train ride. I think it is one of those mystery dinner shows or something. JT signed up with a group from our little church. There are a few other things going on and July starts our birthday/holiday every month until March.

Do you have any plans for July?

Hi Denise, June went by fast. We'll be chilling out over at our youngest daughter's and snl house to swim and grill. Then in the middle of the month I'll be up at the church doing a week long Iconography workshop for about 6 hours a day. Hope you have a wonderful month. The train ride sounds like fun.

Hugs,

Laurie,
I've never heard of iconography. What is that? Could you share about it here?

Iconography is a form of religious painting. It started many centuries ago by nuns and monks. The paints are special type and you thin the paint with holy water. The person painting one asks the holy spirit to help guide them. This is just one of many that I have done. When we a through with the painting we'll get it blessed by the priest with a special oil and holy water.

Happy July, SPG sisters! :) I’m with you, Denise…June flew by! We will spend the 4th at my sister-in-law/brother-in-law’s house. Swimming, grilling, and hanging out. Then home before dark to make sure we can catch rogue fireworks around our dense/house. It’s crazy! John and I will be working at staying as cool as possible this month. It’s started off with a bang! 107 today! So hot. So we will do some indoor projects as much as possible. Toward the end of the month I will be doing a virtual Christmas in July card making class. I’m looking forward to that!

Karen :)

Beautiful work, Laura. Do you draw these free-hand and then paint them? Are they painted on canvas? You do nice work.

Yes, July snuck up quickly for me too! Our neighborhood is doing its annual pot luck gathering which includes a big water slide for kids and adults,, and ending with some fireworks. It is a great time to get to know new people and visit with others you don't see often.

Laura, your iconography is beautiful and congratulations on getting a class together to teach others the skills to do them too! I am sure everyone that signed up will enjoy your class immensely!

It would be me but the kids have gone to TN for the weekend to celebrate our son in love's birthday on the 4th with his parents. He dislikes his birthday being on the 4th. For a long time the littles thought the big celebration was for him.

Well, unfortunately it wasn’t me on July 4th. It was super windy and unseasonably cold (74) when we are used to having temps from the mid 90s to triple digits! :) oh well.

We stayed in on the 4th and watched the Macy's Fireworks show on tv. The fireworks were great, but some of the reiterations of the National Anthem and other mmusicc was not to our liking. We are fuddy duddies, I guess.

I hope everyone stayed safe on the 4th.

Unfortunately, many people are in need of our prayers. I'm sure you have heard about the flooding in south Texas. Over 75 dead and others, including girlswho were attending a Christian girls camp still missing. The river rose over 26 feet in less than 2 hours. Campers, homeowners, and over 800 campers were caught in the high waters.

We went to our neighborhood potluck but a thunder storm moved in and with lightening and thunder and blowing rain, it messed up everything . Typical Florida in the Summer. If you plan to be outside, you run the risk of a washout every time!

Hi Everyone, Sounds like everyone had a good 4th. We spent time with family with hamburgers and fireworks.
I wanted to let everyone know that I received a letter from Marilyn. I was so surprised. She has had several injuries and been in rehab. One of the injuries was to her right arm and it is very painful for her. She had a hard time just righting the letter. But she really enjoys hearing form all of us when we write to her. Thank you for keeping her hopes high. She needs to hear we still care. I appreciate every one of you. Sometimes we never know what a little note can do. Thank you.

Farmgirl Hugs & May all your Wishes come true.

Thanks for the Marilyn update. I will send her a card.

Does she get on her computer at all? I haven't seen her on line in quite a while. I will send a card and a hand-written note; that would be better for her.
