Has anyone read this book? Would you recommend?

The best thing to do during this summer heat wave is get lost in a book!

I agree!! I will ask Katie if she’s read this book. She’s a big Kristin Hannah fan.

I have not read that book. The review look interesting! I will put it on my list :0) Book reading is one of my favourite pass times...on the border of addiction. I stayed up til 1am this morning to finish a book I started the day before.

Jeanette - I'm guilty of that many nights LOL!

Wanda Sue - I agree with Debbie. I haven't read them all, but I haven't read a bad one by her!

I forgot to add - we were surprised with a set of twins this morning! Both bulls. I need to get some pictures off my camera but we're going to be baling hay as soon as we eat and tomorrow is haul straw home day, so it may be a couple days yet.

The sleeping twin boys and their mama:

Our newest one (born yesterday) - a heifer:

We had one a little while ago that is just full speed ahead ALL the time. She doesn't come walking out of her hutch, she flies out at you! EVERY TIME!! So, even though it doesn't really sound like a girl name, I named her Full Throttle:

And even though she's rather spunky, she's a sweetheart. She was quick to take to the bottle, then switch to the bucket for her milk. I should have known.....

Next came this one:

Do you see that look in her eye?!? - never mind her pretty grey looking color LOL! This is "Turbo Rocket Booster" because she makes Full Throttle look like a turtle! And she is giving me a run for my money!!!! I've dealt with ornery calves before, but this one takes the cake. We're going on 4 days of bucket training. I finally got her to drink a bucket without having to put it in the bottle to finish. She would go down on her front knees and put her face in the bucket as far as she could and then just roll over onto her side and flip the bucket over. Or she would put her head in it and just butt it at hard as she could while snorting at it. And if I could get her to calmly suck on my fingers and slowly put her head down in the bucket (the way I train all the other calves) she would bite my fingers! Luckily they only have teeth on the bottom, but it still hurt! She's something else. Don't tell her, but I love her spunk LOL!

How sweet Heather, so much activity on the farm, and never a dull moment. I understand how you can eat your cookies and cocoa all the time, lol. You work very hard everyday, some days more than others, but so many blessings! I love it, thank you for sharing your pictures and stories.

I was surprised yesterday, I thought it would be a couple days yet:

I took the picture before mama had her all cleaned up, but you can see how cute she is! Our first red and white one this year, so I was happy it was a heifer. So far she seems to be calm and laid back. We'll see what happens tomorrow when we put mama back in with the other cows and I become her adopted mama LOL!
