That was nice Denise! A beautiful quilt in your photo!
I took a quilt class once that was so fun!
Beautiful art came out of that class!

Great list, Denise.

I love x-stitched and embroidered sayings. I remember you have quite a few around your house. I want to make several this winter as crafting projects for gifts. I think they would make nice Christmas presents when framed and possibly with a little stand included.

I found this little framed embroidery saying at a craft mall in Indiana when on vacation last year for just $2-3. I'd like to make some just like this. I'd tea-dye fabric before stitching to make them look older.

And I just love this poem. I saw it posted in a shop in a Crafters Village near Mountain View, Arkansas. I just think it is so neat; I had to take a picture of it. Maybe I love it because my mother did teach me most of my many crafts, and I work on numerous projects at once. She taught me that, too. LOL! I even have quite a few vintage linens I can use for the sayings.

My mother taught me how to sew,
And at the time I did not know;
That with every stitch I now complete,
with every row I do so neat,
My Mother's heart is there with me,
guiding my hand for all to see.

Love those Linda! Especially the poem. My mom taught me to sew and crochet but a friend taught me how to cross stitch and I taught myself embroidery and knitting.

I know you like the one stitched picture in my bathroom. I want to do some tea dyed stitchery.

Love them. I have a half a dozen or so on my walls that I did recovering from a back injury about 20 years ago. One was one my mother started and I finished -- it still has rust marks from the metal embroidery hoop she had it in. It was too bad it took me 20 years to find it but most of the rust came out with lemon juice and 100 degree days in the sun.

My mother and I co-worked on sweaters (you couldn't tell the difference where one of us started and the other ended) up between our knitting stitches. We also worked together on some needlepoint pictures.

The old metal straighht pins were notorious for leaving rust if left boxed up for many years. And I think that somewhere I have one of her metal embroidery hoops.

Too funny! The town I grew up in was about 3 hours NE of Seattle. Anytime we would go to the closest “bigger” town, we would say that we were headed “ down below”!!!

I've always loved hearing the "turn left at the big red barn" type directions.

Linda, I loved the saying about one's mother! My Mom taught me to sew when I was 12 and it was such a game changer for me. Sewing gave me a new kind of confidence , improved my patience, and filled hours with planning and fun.
