What is everyone up to this last day of Spring? We are still having Spring weather. Though we have had some warm days it has been rainy the last couple of days. Clearing off and staying in the 70's to start our Summer.
I have started a new journey of gaining better health. Hopefully shedding some weight in the process but I am no longer dieting. Changing my eating lifestyle. Getting more movement in which has already been a big help to my back and sciatic issues. This is not temporary, it is a change in me taking charge of my health through nutrition and exercise. I have been starting off with more changes in eating and now adding in low level exercises. Hoping to move up in that soon. I want to be able to play with my grandchildren as long as possible. Swimming has been one exercise I have been doing with the kids at the pool. I love swimming and take precautions being out in the sun. I have so much more energy these days which means I have been keeping up with most things pertaining to the house. Crafting has been slow going because I don't want to be doing a lot of sitting. I'd rather be on the move.

I hope each of you are having some good weather.
Hope you can get out and celebrate the first day of Summer tomorrow!!

Denise - what a great message as we move into summer. I too have been hoping to make positive lifestyle changes - I also want to be able to enjoy playing with my granddaughter. My daughter and I both noticed little Caroline "groaning" as she sits down on the floor and gets back up - I'm sure she's learned that from us!

It's so hot here right now - our heat indices are up in the 110-120 degree range already this summer. Makes doing anything outside brutal. Hopefully we'll get a break soon and we can enjoy being outside again.

Take care and please share your wellness adventure!

Laura

Way to go Denise, wishing you much success!! I struggle with breaking bad eating habits. So I’m starting with being more active, and hopefully that will motivate other changes.

Great job, Denise!! Please share any tips you have that are working for you! I know I need to get more movement in and make better food choices.

Karen,
I was introduced to Dr.Blake Livingood (yes that is his real name) on Facebook by my cousin. She suffers terribly with RA and through lifestyle changes she has dropped 32 lbs so far. Healthy eating and movement will bring weight loss but the goal is to get healthy without medication. Unless you are type 1 diabetic. That is an autoimmune problem. You can see him on YouTube by searching his name.
It is NOT dieting. It is changing my eating eating lifestyle. It is a small victory but I have lost 2 lbs this last week and a half. Onward I go. I have so much more energy after working out too.

Awesome, Denise!!! I have made lifestyle changes as well over the past year or so, and it is amazing how much better it makes one feel. Obviously there is still room for improvement, but things are definitely heading in the right direction. I wish you all the joy and success on your new road!!!!

Thank you for all the g e encouragement. You all are such a blessing and I am grateful for each of you. We only get one day at a time and that is how I am taking it, one day at a time. One good choice at a time.
