Both my Doxies are sick, Heidi girl and now Bella Girl.

We had to rush Bella to the vet yesterday morning as she was screaming in pain and unable to walk on her paw which was swollen.

Bella was suppose to have dental surgery yesterday morning for abscesses. Dr. Karl said no surgery until he can figure out what was wrong with her paw. Infection, inflammation or something else. But, thankfully it did not happen.

They kept her to take X-rays, blood work etc. Due to her pain they had to put her under for the X-rays.
Bella is also over weight and we do not know why, she is on prescription diet, she does not eat much.

We got a call to go back to the vet as they had Bella’s X-ray results. Dr. Karl found that Bella has a severely enlarged heart, worse than Heidi, he was so surprised as he did not expect to see what he saw. They could find nothing wrong with her paw. Strange right?
So dental surgery is postponed for now which is sad as she is in pain from teeth too. They sent her home with pain meds and heart meds.

Stranger yet, Bella’s paw is fine today! No pain or limping, just pain in her teeth of course.
Her angels are surely watching out for her as who knows what might have happened if she would have had her surgery! For the past week I have been praying to St. Francis too ( patron Saint of animals) to watch over our Bella and let her come through her surgery.
Coincidence? I think not, another Miracle to happen in my life and
I am so thankful and Blessed.
I am sad that both our dogs are sick with Enlarged Hearts and pancreatitis.

We will continue to love them, and make them happy for as long as we need to and as long as they have a quality of life.
So, I will not be around much the next few days as we watch and enjoy our beautiful FurBabies.
And make sure Bella is alright!

Thank you Wildflowers for always being here and listening. I would be lost without y’all.
Have a Beautiful Weekend.

Big Hugs,
Debbie

I'm so sorry, Debbie! I hope the meds will do the trick and things will start to settle down for them.
Definitely not a coincidence that she had a sore paw!!!

Debbie so sorry, but an absolute miracle! I have heard so many times about something comes up but a more serious problem is found. Which turns out to be the reason the serious problem is found! Otherwise it would have been undetected. So happy they are being treated.

A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.

Bella snuggled up in their bedding right out of the dryer, I did not even get to fold it yet!
Thank you all for your prayers. Bella is favoring her little paw a bit and has trouble with the stairs , so hubby Carrie’s her up and down. Her pain meds really help her. We see Dr. Karl again on Thursday.

As I struggle to sleep because I am worried I will not hear my Fur Babies if they need me during the night.
I think if our little Holly girl who we lost 2 years ago this August. Holly was One of our Miracles! She was born with a liver shunt, a partial liver, if it was caught soon enough they could fix it to give her a long life. It was too late by the time we found out to have the surgery. She was given 6-12 months to live. Such awful news! Through love, determination and her will to live she was almost 12 years when we lost her. Her life was so full of love, so much joy and happiness. She was Perfect little Doxie! She was our Little Miracle. So when as I pray I pray for two more miracles for my other fur babies but only if they still have a quality of life and minimal pain!! I’m hey to deserve all the love and joy as they are Perfect!
Thank you Wildflowers for listening and your prayers.
Holly.

Big Hugs,
Debbie

Debbie,
I understand. We had Tybee for 4 years after dad passed. He and I mourned together. Honestly after dad passed and the vet put him on a diet, he was having trouble walking because he was so overweight, he was like a puppy again. A mini daschund is only supposed to be 8-12 lbs and he weighed close to 22. We got him down to 13. He did well but eventually couldn't see or hear. He was also becoming incontinent but I held on just taking care of him and loving him till he passed. He was 17 which is about 2 or so years past the mini doxies normal life span. He was loyal to me even though he wasn't actually mine to begin with.
I am praying for your girls and that they will have plenty of time left to be loved by you.

Thank you. She is finally home, she ate a little soft food and is sleeping. She lost 6 teeth total, two were molars way in the back that were hard to get too. We are just so thankful she made it through the surgery. I am one happy camper.
