Can you all believe that next week is the last one of April?? This month sure seemed to fly by for me. Down here we finished up Spring in the early days and jumped into Summer like weather. I keep wondering if I am missing something?? At the moment, we have been in a sort of drought. Rain happens everyday around here but somehow it keeps missing us with any substantial rain. Hubby is having to go our and water all the plants every other day to keep them alive. April and May are our months of warm and dry days. Just hoping rain gets here soon as the weather man showed us how we are int a pretty significant drought. Not good. We definitely need April showers to keep the flowers alive!!

Good morning,

Taking a few minutes to catch up. I just want to thank you for the lovely mail I have been receiving. You all just brighten my day. It's been a rough 2023 start. With full time school and full time work, as well as life challenges ... I've been overwhelmed .... I'm getting my butt kicked. It's nice to stop in the midst of chaos and take time to appreciate the beauty that surrounds me. So thank you, your cards have reminded me to take a breath every now and again and be grateful.

Aside from dealing with the life's present chaos, not much has been happening. I continue to pick up my knitting needles every now and again. It's my sanity.

Not sure what happened yesterday, but I had the urge to deep clean my house and de-clutter. The last time I experienced this kind of urge was 24 years ago, a couple of days before the birth of my daughter. So, stay tune to see what I birth this time! LOL Anyway, although I have a clean house, I forgot to submit an assignment. Hopefully my prof will be understanding. I am enjoy my clean space!

Welcome back Julie!

That's pretty much it for me. Five more weeks of classes and then finals ... after that I'm a free woman!

Catch you all later!

Carole, it is good to hear from you and I know you are looking forward to the end of classes this Spring. Do you have more schooling ahead for your degree or will you be done?

I have to agree and add that there is something about getting rid of stuff you no longer use and is just filling up space. It is like losing 10 pounds. One feels much lighter and freer !!

Enjoying our dogwood in bloom! We have a robin mama who has made a nest in the corner of our front porch and every morning she flys to the dogwood to sing her morning greetings. Then she gets some food from the bluebird feeder and gets back on her nest. I haven't seen if she has eggs in there yet because I don't like to disturb her.

I wish we had a dogwood tree. I had one at the farm property and loved when it blossomed in the spring.

I hope to be more active in the henhouse now that the sale at the church women's Conference to benefit my granddaughter's 1-year mission trip is past. She leaves on Monday.

Denise, when we moved to our home here in Florida, we had 4 beautiful Dogwood trees that were gorgeous every Spring, with blooms, and every Fall, with red berries. Slowly they began to suffer by late July from all the relentless heat and humidity. They all died and we had to have them cut down. Because of the climate changes here in Florida, all the big Dogwood trees in town have almost vanished. It is so sad because they are wonderful trees. I grew up with two in our yard in Charlottesville, Va. and every year we had a Robin nest in one or the other. I miss out Dogwoods every Spring.

Our robin has babies in her nest. I know one has not hatched yet but the other has. I don't know if 1 or 2 hatched. I should have looked to see how many eggs there were 2 or 3. It hard to see if there are two hatched or if it was just one. We didn't want to touch anything so it was difficult to peek in.

We have a pair of cardinals nearby - not sure where. The mom and dad are at our feeders a lot. I hope we see them soon.
