We took Callie to the vet this morning. She is completely blind, and her vision will not return. The vet said that the veins in the eye are good, so she does not have high blood pressure. This is probably an old age thing, she is 14 years old. I feel sorry for her that she cannot see things, but she is eating well drinking well and does know the yard. This probably means that her vision has been slowly fading, because we noticed before we left that she seemed to be walking closer to the cat that she doesnt care for, and that was unlike her. Thanknyou for your concerns.

Linda,
It is so hard when our pets age so fast. Wishing Callie the best as she learns to maneuver her way around.

Spent the afternoon in the craft room catching up on things. Was busy getting Christmas packages ready to go so I wasn't able to get in here until today. I finished my swap items and am working on something for Peter. Being the last one born he didn't get an ornament the year I made for everyone, so he is getting his today.
Will be heading to the PO tomorrow. More packages to go out. Also finishing all my Christmas cards today so the last of them will go out tomorrow. Then I am going to get my hair done tomorrow morning and Friday I have a dentist appt to start some work that won't get finished until January. JT has an appt with the endodontist on Friday too.

The Littles get out of school for their winter break on Friday so we are planning some things to do with them the week before Christmas. Going to take them to Clifton Mill to see the 4 million lights (that is what they advertise) and the things they have set up for Christmas. If you go to their website https://www.cliftonmill.com/ you can see how they decorate the mill part of the property. They are one of the few mills that still have a running water wheel.

Lots to still get done today. Have a great afternoon everyone!

Linda, I am sorry your sweet kitty is failing with age! Our pets age and have big problems way too soon!! It breaks our hearts.

I spent the afternoon making cookies that I need to get out in the mail to family ASAP. WE are dog sitting a dog that belongs to some friends who went to Europe for 18 days. He is living here and is a very sweet boy. But, he requires lots of attention and walks and I am not used to having an animal take up so much time each day.

Winnie,
Yes, pups do take a lot more attention and care than most. We haven't gotten another yet. But are planning too.hopefully soon. I'd like a French bulldog, JT wants another Boston Terrier. We shall see. Maybe one of each.

Thank you all for your thoughts of Calli's blindness. She seems to be adapting more each day. Outside, she is venturing out a bit more, which in itself is scary, because she cannot see possible threats. Our yard is commpletely fenced, and though she used to climb over to the neighbors, I don't think she will do that now. I am hoping that CePoo (not named by us but means little shoe) will possibly help protect Calli, though for the last 3 years Calli has been an antagonist to CePoo, so we shall see. This will be interesting to see how it progresses.

The Frenchie and Boston seems so much alike to me except the coloring.
Problem is our son in law is allergic to dogs. I'd hate if he couldn't come over because of it. We do have to get a fence put up before I will get a pup though.

I think French bulldogs are adorable but my daughter said they have a lot of health issues related to their facial structure and breathing. I have no idea if that is really the case either. But I would love to have one too because they seem so fun and adorable.

Linda, good news that Callie seems to be adjusting so well. Animals can be so amazing!!

A Boston terrier and French bulldog are similar in the facial structure. They do have snoring issues because of the short snout. Our girl never had a problem other than snoring. She actually passed from renal failure and other girl didn't have problem with the snoring but her nose wasn't a little more out than the first pup.

I will have some time to myself for about a week - YAY!! I have a lot of quilting projects to finish, so the alone time is much needed. I know I have plenty to do. Ed is riding to Florida on Thursday with his son who is visiting here. Ed’s younger sister is having surgery on the 27th, and he thought he should be there. Please send prayers for a successful surgery.

He will be gone for our anniversary on the 24th and Christmas. My son and his family are coming over on Christmas for our Christmas celebration.

Question: Does anyone here need to renew their MJF membership? I do, and they are offering a "Buy-2-Get-1-50% off" offer through December. Please let me know and I can order both and we can split the cost. Thanks!

Very cold for us too starting tomorrow night. We will have low 20s for 4 nights in a row! Because it has been so warm this Fall, I have a few Azalea flowers opening up in my yard!! I hate to see them all killed!!
