I am getting better slowly. The Paxlovid really helps jump start the cough improving so that is a huge help. This week, I completely lost my sense of taste for everything. Plus the medicine leaves this metallic taste in my mouth. I can't wait to be able to taste my morning coffee again!! My daughter had the same thing happen to her when she caught Covid earlier this Summer from work. She said it lasted about a week. Hubby feels totally fine but still tested positive this morning. He was so frustrated!

We are heading to AppleFest this morning. Will be a beautifully cool day for it. Definitely makes me ready for some hot apple cider! That is one thing that is quite expensive here, unless you get it in the grocery stores. Can't wait to see what is new this year. Hoping to find some special gifts. I would much rather support small local businesses when I can.

Denise, how was the apple festival? Did you find some treasures?

Today, my hubby, daughter, and son-in-law and I went to fall market at a local antique market. I found a few small pieces of fabric and John found a book on Carpentry that was published in 1907. We finished the day off by celebrating both my niece and hubby’s birthdays. It was a great day! :)

Karen, sounds like a great way to spend the day.

We had a good time at the Applefest.
Found a gift for our granddaughter's birthday and a few other goodies. It was very busy. We arrived early so it was easy to get in quickly. We left about 2 1/2 hrs later and the line of cars waiting to get in was about a 1/2 mile long at least. It was a bit cloudy and a bit breezy but that made it nice not being so hot. I don't do crowds well so we walked the perimeter mostly. We did see everything. There was a lot of the same things. I was glad to see some favorite vendors from last year there and we purchased from them again. It was a nice day out together. Not really JT's favorite thing to do but he is always a good sport to go with me.

Denise, those fall apples festivals are everyone's favorites and sure do get crowded in a hurry. Glad you had nice weather and a good time.

My girlfriend and I went to our first quilt show since the month before the pandemic. We promised ourselves not to buy any fabric as between us we have enough to open a fabric store. We stuck to our promise! I came home with two spools of Valdani thread and a tiny wall hanging and she got three big hanks of silk sari yarn.We did buy raffle tickets and when I got home I found that someone called and said I won a basket. When we drove the 25 miles back up there today to pick it up I found that I had won two baskets. Neither had fabric -- I had chosen where to put my tickets wisely.

Congratulations on winning Judith! What sort of goodies were in the baskets? Sounds like a good day even if you didn't get any new fabric.

Congratulations Judith!
How fun on your winnings! I bet you had a ball going through the baskets!

There were about 100 baskets with themes. I looked through them all and put most my tickets in the cat themed baskets that appeared to have no fabric but lots of cat goodies, and a bucket of tools. I won the cat baskets so my furry friends have a lovely portable cat kennel, catnip, grooming glove, nail nippers, and toys galore. I have patterns, jigsaw puzzle, wall hanging, cute stuffed cats, and a beautiful Laurel Birch book. I unfolded the kennel and they had fun investigating but I haven't figured out how to fold it back up again. I seldom ever win anything so this is fun. The kid kitties think so too. I'm sure we all will have fun with the puzzles.

Judith, how fun was that to be a winner of the cat baskets!! Your kitties will be totally excited about those treats too. I am like you, I don't usually win anything when I enter my ticket. Glad you had such a fun surprise as well as some fun with a buddy post pandemic!

Congrats, Judith! Your cats will love all the goodies. And we love jigsaw puzzles. We worked a lot of them during the Pandemic in its beginning stages.

We are back, and I hope to stay grounded for a while, after our 3 funerals and a wedding within 4 weeks. I am glad the wedding was last so we had a happy time before we came home. I saw my sister in person for the first time since 2015 when she was married (the first airplane trip together for Ed and I was to her wedding).

If Ed's son's home in Lakeland, FL, sustains any damages we may be going there after Ian subsides to help get things fixed.

Welcome Home Linda!
It will be interesting trying to do the jigsaw puzzles with the cats around, especially the two kid cats. It may be more of a toy for them than for me.

my sister covers the puzzle with a towel and then puts a tablecloth over the entire table. She says her cats both leave it alone then. Might work?

My former cat would sleep in the middle of the puzzle and s-t-r-e-t-c-h across it. NOT good. LOL!

I might give that a try. I am sure Scooter will consider it a new kitty bed. His Brother Fuzzy is usually a patio cat due to mischievous behavior so if he came in it would be 500 pick up.

I find it interesting, the things we do to keep our fur babies in line. We haven't found our fur baby yet but I'm sure we will soon.

Life would be so boring without the fur babies. When the time is right they come to you.
