Great job on the newsletter Debbie!

Laura - what a great town! Is that King Ranch House still standing? I can't believe that picture is from the 1800's!!! It looks amazing. I'd love to see the inside

Wanda - What a wonderful vacation! Thanks so much for sharing. The photos look like a place I'd love to visit. The bike ride sounds fun.

I have not read the Crawdad's book yet but I'm planning to. After I read the book I'll decide on the movie. Have any of you that read the book watched the movie?

Heather, I have the Crawdads book ready if you would like it. The movie is in town but I haven’t seen it yet. I’m hoping maybe this weekend.

Thank you ladies, happy that you are enjoying the newsletter.
Congratulations Debbie on being my Wildflower of the month, I appreciate you and your help so much l. A surprise will be going out in the mail Tuesday.

There was in error in the newsletter that somehow we missed. The swaps I mentioned post card, hankies and recipes are ones I thought we could do in the our henhouse not ones we are doing on the main forum:-)

What do y’all think?

Big Hugs,
Debbie

Please Wildflowers if you did not get the newsletter let me know.
I have heard from Debbie, Heather, Wanda Sue, Darlene and Jami that they received theirs. What about the rest of my Wildflowers?

Those swaps sound fun to me.

Debbie K - I've already read the lost girls of Paris but if you don't get any takers for the german girl one you can send it with the crawdads book. I'll be happy to send it on also.

Congratulations Debbie K. on being our Wildflower of the month!

I’m curious, and this question is for the whole group, if you could choose to be a wildflower, which one would you choose?
I would be a Black-Eyed Susan. I have loved seeing those along the roadside since I was a little girl!!

Wanda - I've been thinking. My first reaction was "something purple" but I changed my mind. Although it's not my favorite at all I think I'd be one of those orange lilies. Those things are the toughest flower I know. They are in the strangest places and survive and bloom no matter the conditions or weather. I have some beside my house that have had straw bales on them - they grew around and through them. The never get watered unless it rains and yet they bloom every year! I can only hope to be that strong and resilient through my life.

Heather what a great share about your orange lilies. I have one orange Lily and I think it is a Calli Lily, I will have to take a photo before the deer get it. All our flowers, plants etc are all new to us as this is our first spring and summer in the house everything is just so beautiful, can not wait to see what fall brings us.

I'm surprised with the 5000 pictures I take that I don't have a picture of the lilies. I'll see if they're still blooming tomorrow.

Hi everyone :)

Debbie - I did enjoy the newsletter so much! Thanks to you and yours for putting that together for us.

Yes - the King Ranch main house is still standing. Here's an interesting article about it:

Oh and I almost forgot - if I had to pick a wildflower - I'd like to choose the Indian Blanket - it's a favorite of mine along the Texas highways.

I’m not sure if I could pick a favorite wildflower…. I love black eyed Susans and wild climbing roses and those bright orange poppies and bluebonnets.

All wildflowers are so beautiful, we have so many on our property. The colors of all the different followers are just amazing to me.

What an amazing ranch story Laura! Thanks for sharing the link. I can't even fathom what that amount of land looks like.
