Just wanted to wish everyone a happy weekend! My sister and I will be "glamping" tomorrow in our camper. My daughter lived in a small trailer while she was doing an internship with the Forest Service. It's just been sitting - waiting - for us to have some fun with it. So this weekend we are going to see what it's like.

I've got a crafty project packed, some magazines to read, and a comfy chair to curl up in and watch the birds.

Hope you all have something fun planned too!

Thanks - it was a fun weekend. I bought some vintage sheet charm squares on Etsy and I picked some out to make a quilt top and I did a little embroidery. My sister did some knitting. We saw some lovely birds - a painting bunting, an indigo bunting, a green jay and a black throated green warbler.

My sister and I have always wanted to trailer camp but we've been a bit hesitant about towing a trailer and setting it up. My brother had a great idea to park it at a campground that's about an hour away (so he and my son could hunt and fish). I think it will help us get a bit more comfortable - and I think we definitely will do it again.

We have a few painted buntings up here. Last summer one discovered the dogs water pan below the faucet by the garage. I actually got to see it (within ten feet), pretty close. Certainly closer than the high line wires. They are BEAUTIFUL!!!

That sounds like a wonderful weekend! It's good to take time to rest and relax. So nice you could have some sister time together.

Laura, do you have any glamping plans for Memorial day weekend? What about the rest of our girls? We usually stay close to home.

We will stay home this weekend - we think the campground might be a little crowded since it's a holiday. We will probably just go hang out with my dad. My son has some things to do for Scouts and I'm hoping to get a little crafting in too.

Have a great holiday weekend everyone!

Nothing better than being at home. When our son was young, my husband insisted on going to the lake almost every weekend.
SO we did, because his family had always
gone to the lake. I spent three days cooking, shopping, doing laundry and cleaning house in order to be ready. Then our son and I had to go early to PK to get the spot everyone loved, in the state park. I'm glad I was young. Funny thing...our son never took his family to the lake. They camped out...but no water.

Weekends at the lake sound like fun but I can only imagine the work it took both before and after.

We got the exciting news today that the house my sister and I are buying is set to close next week. My sister will be moving in now and I'll move after my son graduates from high school next year.

We plan to turn the master bedroom into our sewing room - I'm really looking forward to that!

Laura, that sounds like fun.
Having a sister who shares a love of sewing, now that sounds awesome to me.
Is the house in the same town where you live now?

Laura, that sounds like a wonderful plan!
I wish my sister and I has been that close. She was 13 yrs older than me and I heard tell there were a lot of arguments about how I was dressed and raised between her and my mom when I was young. Lol. Was like having 2 moms. After I was grown and had two children, my sister had her first and only child, then I had my third so there was a bit of sharing maternity clothes and baby clothes but we always lived far from one another. We did have good times when we were together though.
I hope you two have lots of sewing fun together as well as camping fun too!
We are staying home and working on projects this weekend. My nephew and brother in law may come down but not sure yet. Nothing definite yet.

I will be moving from our little town to where my sister lives - about an hour away. My brother lives there too and our dad is just 30 minutes north so we will all be closer together. Our house is actually in the neighborhood where we grew up and my brother's house is just about 5 blocks from our new house.

I don't really have a reason to stay here by myself once Connor has graduated so I'm looking forward to it. He plans to go to college up where my daughter is living - about 6 1/2 hours north.

It will be great to have the year to really go through our things and decide what I want to move. I'll slowly start to take things over and I plan to let a lot go - kind of a fresh start :) which is fun to look forward to!
