I will celebrate. Looking through patterns and thinking I will start my log cabin quilt next.

I made a small quilt for my Feed Sacks Live On Swap. I forgot to take a photo before I packed it for the mail. But I will have my swap partner take one for me.
I absolutely love to quilt but had not made one in a long time.

Big Hugs,
Debbie

I didn't do any quilting on National Quilting Day but I was making plans for an upcoming retreat in early April.

We have a small group of quilty friends that usually retreat twice a year. The retreat house where we stay has great design walls and nice cutting tables so I like to plan my projects to take advantage of those.

I'm planning to lay out and sew my Trip Around the World quilt, a cute plus sign quilt called Linen Garden and a fun scrappy quilt called America the Beautiful using fabrics that highlight the state flowers.

I have a few projects I'd like to cut out too. Fingers crossed that I can get it all done.

Look forward to hearing about your quilty projects!

Laura

Laura, that sounds like a lot of fun! I've been on a couple of retreats in the past but we didn't have the room for design walls or to lay anything out. That will be nice. You can get a lot finished when you don't have to worry about doing anything else...like cooking or housework! Please post pictures of your projects later.

I sewed on quilting day. Of course I sew just about every day. I'm thinking that as I made some cloth paper towels or a dish drainer quilt...perhaps the top stitching is considered quilting. ???

I say so, Marilyn! It's holding the layers together!
I remember when my 2 were little and would nap every afternoon. That was my time every day, I usually got 2 hours, to sew. I loved it. I had a neighbor that would always ask why I didn't nap when the kids did. Back then, I would rather sew. Now, sometimes naps are nice, too!

Oh I've always wanted to make the reusable paper towels - I am hoping to get some sewing in tonight to get some of my squares prepped.

Do you all do any handwork (embroidery, cross stitch or wool applique)? I love those too!

Tooooo many projects!!

I do handiwork Laura. Cross stitch, embroidery, I have a wool applique kit but haven't gotten around to trying it yet.

Happy Monday :)

Wishing everyone a good week! Anyone have any crafty plans for this week? I need to get my little retreat gifts ready for next week so I'm planning on playing in my fabric stash to make some salt cellar pin cushions. I'll post some pictures when I get a few finished.

I'm cross stitching a bit too - working on the Summer House Stitche Workes - Ladies Garden Journal. I'm stitching the first flower - Sweet William.

Happy Monday to you Laura!
I love to sew. But my thumbs prevented any stitching this weekend. I'm glad they are better today. My son brought the Big oletrash trailer to our driveway...so that means it is time to toss those many boxes that accumulate etc. No kitchen trash...but yard clean up, feed sacks etc
Are ok.
Funny I started a major cleanup a year ago, and then one day, before I was finished he needed the trailer. He is a building contractor,so he bought this trailer for clean up around their jobs.
So most of this week I will be picking up after the chickens and dogs outside and gathering junk from inside.
I'm hoping to sew a bit too.
I made a bunny for my great grandson. But he needs some clothes.

I bet you are getting excited for your retreat, Laura!
I like to do too many handcrafts....knitting, crocheting, embroidery, sewing, quilting, cross stitching. I don't know that I have a favorite, I guess it depends on the day and my mood! It also makes for a lot of projects going on at once, too. Oh, well...it keeps life interesting!

It would be nice if we could see some pictures of the wonderful quilts everyone is working on.
My Swap Partner Heather in the Feed Sack Thread like the Lap quilt I made her. I need to have her send a picture to me.

Laura, how excited you must be for your upcoming retreat. Hope you will take photos to share with all of us.

Have a great Monday Wildflowers.

Big Hugs,
Debbie
