I am always kind of sad to see February go! But spring is on the way! We are having sunny days and temperatures up near 60 all week. Farm work is starting. I'm not ready for it but I guess that it's inevitable. It's good to have our employees back.
My 3 year old granddaughter has started her "garden". She has an entire tray of seedlings up and going. I guess her plan is to bring them to my house and transplant them and then plant more seedlings. I wasn't really planning on planting anything extra this year but maybe we can find places in my flower beds so that they'll get watered along with the rest.
What are you girls working on? Any spring plans?

Oh how fun Debbie planting with your Granddaughter.
I will be happy to have our forever home so I will be able to plant my flower and veggie garden. A lot of work but so worth it.
Here at the rental house we have some beautiful flowers and 3 fruit trees, apple, cherry and do not know what the other is yet. It is just so wonderful for me to have green grass, flowers blooming and no Snow!

Big Hugs,
Debbie

My few daffodils are getting frozen outside....poor things! I hope my strawberry plants are tough this spring. We had a week of beautiful weather last week...we didn't even need a jacket outside. This week, not so much!!! Cold, wind and snow.

Debbie, my daffodils. Began their journey to beauty in January. Then they budded up and opened in mid February. Each year they have multiplied and I'm so pleased! But sadly it began to rain...which I usually call blessing rain. Within a couple of hours those beauties were lying flat on the ground, covered with ice#128549;#128549;#128549;. And they stayed right there for two very cold weeks. Sadly that was the end for that set.I hope their leaves can still provide nourishment for the bulbs so that perhaps God can bring back that show of beauty next winter.

Oh how happy we do not live in Colorado anymore. The area we lived in got a doosy of a winter storm this weekend, worse snow storm in many year. It is sunny today a bit chilly get but not bad.
How is the weather in your area today?

Marilyn when we get our forever home I will plant many daffodils.

Have a beautiful week Wildflowers.

last autumn I worked all one Saturday afternoon, moving irises.I've always wanted to have a beautiful showing on both sides of our lane from where our property begins up past our driveway.
Soon I will know how well they did, where I need to replace, etc. I love irises because they give such beauty, while in bloom...followed by green leaves until winter.
My husbands honeysuckle was the main victim of the big storm.

Oh, that's too bad, Marilyn! I love honeysuckle. My mom used to have 1 on a trellis by the front door. It always smelled so nice when you stepped out.

I'm going to miss my honeysuckle when we move but I'll have to find some to plant. It always makes June smell wonderful.

Oh Marilyn I am so sorry hubby lost his honeysuckle and will be able to plant more.

I love honeysuckle too, I will have to plant some in my new garden when I move.

Denise, have y’all decided yet where and which state you are moving too?

Enjoy the rest of your summer Wildflowers.

Denise, if you put some good potting soil in several pots, water it, and take some cuttings from your honeysuckle and stick them in the soil (with rooting harmone or without) you should have some plants to take with you when you move! I think the ones he bought were two year old plants. You would need a nice place for them to live inside until frost is done. Then they can grow out doors!
I love to start plants, and God thinks Spring is the perfect time.
