Denise, I am glad to hear that you are getting some time in with your grandchildren! No apologies needed for not liking change. I don't know anyone who really does except maybe doing a home renovation.

Quality time with our grand kids is so important, I love the sleepovers we have. Winnie, a home renovation is exciting but so stressful. I love the finished results, but sure hate the mess and household upset during it. I started some garden seeds yesterday, it was time to start the ones that need 8 weeks before the last frost. For the next 3 weeks I will slowly be increasing all the trays under my grow lights.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

Get in all the time you can with grandkids when they are little. You see less and less of them as they grow older and develop their own lives.

Judith, that is why since the older ones are moving, we are moving close to the little ones. Though I will miss the older ones dearly I am hoping they visit. My son in law's mother lives in the same state about an hour from where we want to be so I'm hoping they will try to visit there often as they can.

Well, Ed and I had our second COVID vaccinations Wednesday, and I spent all of yesterday in bed - again! Chills started about 8 pm on Wednesday night, then fever about 10:30 pm, headache, worse muscle and joint aches, and then the fever broke yesterday afternoon. I have a slight headache now, but overall feel fine. So glad this is over and we are fully vaccinated. They say that people who have had COVID have more reactions because they already have antibodies in their system; but they also say that the reactions mean that the vaccine is working to make more antibodies. Glad I don't have to have another shot.

But on a good note, we got our tax refund on Wednesday. WHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEE! I figured it would take longer and am glad it got here.

Judith you are correct. If a person misses out on getting to know their young grand kids, I think that is sad! Julie's dad never held the kids. They did not come for the birth of either one. It seemed that they only cared about themselves. But when that old woman needed someone to feed her and bathe her and all of those things a person whose brain is gone needs help with...it was the two kids she never had time for.
What I have found is that the years of cuteness, those baby times, toddler days, etc....those are my memories. From first grade on through their "formative" years...those are the years they remember.
