St. Anthony of Padua. He was a great speaker and is the patron saint of lost things.

Never heard of him Debbie. Where do Patron saints originate from?

Patron saints come from all walks of life and all countries, from the beginning of the Catholic church. The Church goes through a process to canonize a person as a saint. They are chosen as special protectors over areas of life, such as occupations, illnesses, different causes, countries, etc. Think St. Patrick, patron saint of Ireland. Or St. Jude, patron of desperate cases and lost causes. St. Augustine led quite a scandalous life until he turned to Jesus in his life....thanks to YEARS of his mother, St. Monica, praying for him. These were all normal people like all of us, who lived their lives for God and became great saints. Some of them have fascinating stories! St. Anthony is one of my favorites!

Thank you for explaining Debbie. I am not very familiar with the Catholic church.

What is everyone doing to celebrate this last day of 2020? Our dd and family are coming to eat and play some games. Not sure if they will stay to ring in the new year or not. I don't know if I can stay awake that long. Lol. Last year when the Ohio kids were here only myself and my son in love stayed up long enough to ring it in.

We haven't made it to midnight in I don't know how long!! Tonight we are having a little BBQ dinner at a friend's house outside around their fire pit. This couple and us have been the family bubble during the pandemic so we often get together on our porches for a little gathering where we can be safe and socially distance. Our local health department has a site where we can sign up for when it will be our turn for the vaccine. Hubby's group is ahead of me so hopefully by the end of March we will have finished both rounds of the vaccine. It gives me hope as 2021 moves in tonight!

I'm thinking it will be a quiet night at our house. I might see if my mom wants to come out tomorrow afternoon and work on a puzzle or play some cards.

Winnie, you are a nurse. I'm just curious as to your thoughts on getting the vaccine yourself. I can't decide what I will do about it.

My daughter-in-law brought us some eggs and fudge and we had a nice socially distanced driveway visit. I hadn't seen her since July 4th. It was good to catch up on family gossip. DH and I are making nachos for dinner and looking forward to a game of Monopoly. He will probably fall asleep before midnight as he has done for the past 15 years and I will kiss the cats and wish for a better year to come.

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need, and thank him for what he has done.
Philippians 4:6

Just follow God unquestioningly.
Because you love Him so, for if you trust His judgment there is nothing you need to know.
