We've been talking of our plans on the July thread Bonnie. Happy 4th! Cute picture! Is the a picture of a figurine of yours? He's adorable.

Cute mouse. We have a flag pole with flag and three more flags along the fence between my barn quilts.

We may go to a neighbors and keep our distance to watch the fireworks. I think they will be in the park that is about 1-1/2 miles away and we should be able to see them. A lot of cities are shooting them up higher so that more people can see them. I'm not sure what our city is doing.

Well, it will be the fourth of July soon. Independence Day!!!
This year will be extra special, because God, President Trump, and we Patriots have defeated the evil!!! So light the fireworks and let's celebrate!

The mouse is a figurine from a company called Wee Forest Folk in New England. They are made by a family making these cuties since the 1970s. The mom just turned 100. I bought a few at that time when my husband was in school in Vermont. They are very pricy now but I have several from that time.
There are no formal fireworks near us but the neighbors put on their own display. It's so much noise I'm glad when it's over. In the 90s here this week and next. July in full force.

We've planned a picnic with my dd and her family. They have a portable fire pit they are bringing over and we will roast hotdogs and have other picnic fare. Will make s'mores later and play some games. Hoping it's not too hot too enjoy it.
I am checking to see where and when they will do fireworks.

When my son was a teen, we were weekend lake campers. My husband's aunts, uncles, cousins were also there. Every Fourth of July my hubby's uncle came with a huge bag of fireworks. We were all so excited!

He would enlist the older kids to help out with the set up. Then everyone sat and watched...far across the lake the first fireworks show was set off...then the next, and next...all around the lake. No one knew the other families who had gathered at the lake, some lived there year round, but by some unspoken agreement, that is how the fireworks event was done. But after the last family had shot off the last boom...the sparklers...held by the little guys and girls and their mammas made such a beautiful display from each camp. Then every camp took turns once more, shooting off their biggest fire works, the grand finalie!!
Ladies I have had so much fun remembering these fun times! I hope you have some memories to share also.
