Yes, we have had no rain, cloudy skies at times and lots of hot days. Apparently, the dust changes the upper level wind sheer and helps prevent rain storms. More importantly, it helps quell Tropical Storm formation in the Atlantic and Gulf. What I learned is that the Sahara dust storms blow here from late Spring into the early Summer every year . Who knew?? We really do need rain so this current Dust storm is going to move North and dissipate over the next few days. Hopefully that will allow more afternoon thunderstorms to happen and give all the plants a good soaking.
