Are you going to use the vinyl planks that look like wood? Or a pattern.

It's rainy and a bit breezy this morning though the thermometer reads 41.
Started the woodstove. Went to the kitchen to get the coffee going and noticed my cactus is in bloom. I had repotted it this past summer into a bigger container. I guess once it got to stretch it roots it was much happier. It hasnt bloomed in a few years.

That is beautiful Denise. I used to have two, that bloomed at Thanksgiving too. I need to buy one this year. I have always wanted a Norfolk pine in a pot too. Greatgranny had one and it was so pretty.

Your cactus is beautiful Denise. Mine hasn't bloomed in years. I wonder if I repotted it if that would change its mind.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

No trees up for us, yet. I have seen several large trucks going through Montana loaded with Christmas trees, headed out. My dad used to haul Christmas trees down to AZ for years, usually around Thanksgiving. I am hoping that we can take a tree from Montana home with us to Oregon when we leave next week. There are so many pretty ones right out the window! It seems a shame to have to pay $50 or more back home when these are free!
We probably won't put the tree up until the 2-3rd week of December and then leave it up through New Year's or maybe the first week of January.

LOL! I know the price of trees has really gone up. My dad used to hate spending $5-15 on a tree. LOL! I don't get a real tree any more because of my allergies. When I first got a fake tree I was amazed how my allergies were non existent. I love the smell, but my nose just can't take it. I don't know if they will have a real, fake, or no tree in Germany.

I saw where the trees arrived all the way down here and the poor things will be having near 80n degrees every day thorough next weekend! It is so weird how it happens that there is a cooler snap before Thanksgiving and then it all heats up just when people are trying to do that whole snowman, Santa Claus theme with their Christmas decorations! What is true here in Florida is that the natural Poinsettia plants around town are just gorgeous with big blooms. They grow huge in yards almost like bushes. Also the oranges on my tree are slowly turning orange. WE had a very small crop this year and almost no acorns at all! It has been such a weird fall and I don't know why. Other yards around town have lots of oranges on their trees and acorns in the yards and roads. I haven't checked out the tree prices yet but I am sure they have gone up just like everything else has this year.

Winnie,
I always loved to see the poinsettia there. My mom had a beautiful big one by her front door. It was gorgeous this time of year.

The first year I taught school I bought a 3' tree for the classroom. The kids and I made decorations for the little tree. After thirty years in a classroom and one year at the restaurant, it was still just fine. It became the angel tree at home then the kids decorated it for a while. Finally at about 37 years of use...it went to fake tree heaven...I guess. It lasted a long time.

Darlene -- are you still in Redding? And it's snowing?? They said on the weather last night that the snow level will be about 1500 feet. It's raining here finally. I hope it rains enough to wash my car; I was almost embarrassed to take it to the store this morning.

Darlene, what a beautiful picture! I'm so taken by the red poinsettias that I had to look again to see the snow! Does it usually snow in Redding this time of year???

I imagine many of you are up to your ears in the kitchen today fixing the wonderful feast for tomorrow. I am very thankful for my family here at home and also here on Mary Jane's Farm. You have brightened my life.

I'm glad we could help a tiny bit Judith. My family still does not understand how I can care so much about a special group of ladies, that I have never met, except for Linda. They just accept it because it makes me happy. I have something to look forward to. I love you all! I also pray that God will keep you and your loved ones safe as many travel this weekend, and bless you with good food and good company.Happy Thanksgiving!

We are at our sons after the long drive to the family and the viewing on Tuesday night. It was an emotional as well as exhausting time. There must have been close to 200 people that came through for the viewing. The line stretched outside into the parking lots and was steady for the whole 3 hours. They didn't have a funeral service just the viewing. We left Wednesday morning to get here.
Will be home tomorrow morning.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! If you are traveling, take care on the roads. We are off in a few minutes to spend the day with a friend in Tallahassee, FL. It is a beautiful and warmish Thanksgiving Day here so it will be a good day for a drive along the back roads,

Denise, I'm glad that you are back safe and sound. Safe travels to all of you girls who are going somewhere for Thanksgiving!
Marilyn, that poem is sweet! Brad hears me talking about you girls and he's beginning to remember names but my family just knows that we have a henhouse full of ladies that are so special to me! God bless all of you and have a special day, whatever you are doing!

Marilyn -- great poem!
Happy Thanksgiving to all. I had a delightful day at my son's house and got to hold my great grandchild for the first time. And the food was good too.

Judith, that would be a grand day in my book!

We got back home here about 11:30 this morning. Now I have the laundry going and going to work on putting away my fall decor so I can clean and bring out some Christmas sometime this coming week.

This is what my cactus greeted me with when we arrived back home. Still quite a f ew little buds coming on.
