The cicadas are driving me batty. LOL! Sounds like a whole herd of them out in the trees. I found a couple on my porch yesterday. YUCK.

I have never had a scentsy, but have subbed in classrooms that had them. That is very cute. I thought you had a big pitcher of lemonade. Ha, ha! Silly me... then I read your post.

Watered all plants this morning. First time this year I have had to water everything so I'm not complaining.

Inside for rest of the day. I've finished the wool pocket so today I'll work on the carrots to put in the pocket. Thought I would do fabric carrots but none of the orange fabrics in my stash are the right shade of orange so I will make the carrots out of wool. Not sure how many carrots I need so I will start with 3 and make more if needed.

I have a couple Scentsy warmers - not that fancy, though. I love the lemonade pitcher. I'll have to go look at the barn, too.

I got a scented on sale a while back, it has dragonflies on it and they show up when the light is on. Really pretty!

We leave tomorrow morning for a week in Canada. Some friends of ours locally have rented a little cottage on a lake outside of Ottawa. They invited us up so we are going to first fly to Toronto, visit some friends, then on to the lake and come home from Montreal where we could get a better plane rate on our return. It is supposed to be cooler there by Monday and be around 80 in the day and 60 at night. I will be such a welcomed change from this awful heat!! We will return next Friday so I might not be around much this coming week. Marilyn I am having my mail held until next Friday so your package should be safe inside until it gets delivered next week.

Winnie, that sounds like a lovely week. We went up years ago to visit my brother and his family. They had a cute little cottage on Rice Lake. So much fun and a relaxing time. Not far from there is a graveyard where Joseph Scriven is buried. He is the author of some well known hymns.

One of my son's friends is on a mission trip in Canada. He said it was drizzly all day today and 53°. Perhaps you may need a jacket. Have fun Winnie.

Yes it is. I still think we may have an earlier than usual autumn, longer, colder winter. I will never forget 1964. It was so hot, cars and homes did not have air conditioning, and I was pregnant. Wade was born on the 3rd of August. We spent three days in the hospital, ten days later it began to rain, cooled off and never got hot again. A year later we had sleet on Halloween, and the following year we had a deep snow... Like 10" ...very unusual recently...but in the 1960s and 1970s it was pretty common.

I remember in the late 50s early 60s wearing our Halloween costume OVER a snowsuit just southwest of Chicago in Illinois.

An early fall and longer winter would be wonderful, too. I love the fall temps. Much better for walking outside for exercise.

I saw my first hummingbird of the season yesterday. It was fluttering around the marrow roses. I didn't but out feeders because of ants though they don't seem to be a problem this year like in past years.
